This is a follow up to my previous ticket that I can no longer add to. Users can no longer Submit Events. This page keeps turning on and off and I fear their is a conflict somewhere with the theme, but I am not experienced enough to begin to find it. Is there any way you guys can tell if there is a conflict? Just in case you can, below is my log in info:

    femfessionals.com/wp-admin
    admin login information removed

once logged in go to this URL in your browser:
    http://www.femfessionals.com/events/community/add

you can see the page doesn’t seem to load all the way, and when you click Submit nothing happens.

    Hey @Mike,

I’m sorry that issues are persisting!

I removed your login information because we are unfortunately cannot log into customer sites for any reason; one of the main reasons for this is for security purposes.

    Now, back to your issue:

You mention that you suspect a theme conflict here. What, specifically, makes you suspect this?

Also, we’re unfortunately not able to tell if there’s a conflict for sure. The only definitive way to reveal or rule out a conflict is to run through the complete set of troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

Let us know if you can do those steps, and if so, what you find!

    Thank you,
    George

I feel like its a conflict due to the on and off nature of the issue, and the failure of the page to fully load. Unless you have heard of this before happening and know what to do:)

    thanks,
    Mike

    Hey @Mike,

Thanks for the update here. There is unfortunately not a known issue of the page turning on and off like you describe, and I cannot recreate this issue on my own local testing site 🙁

With that in mind, then, I would recommend the troubleshooting steps I linked to above.

Let us know if you can do those steps and, if so, what you find by doing them!

    Cheers,
    George

Submit events in Community Events page still not working, and now the date icon is not showing the right day. They all say November 3rd when the event is clearly not on that day. Can you help?

    thanks,
    Mike

I forgot to add the link showing the the date inon issues, http://www.femfessionals.com in the center column you can see the icon has the wrong day.

    Hi @Mike,

Have you done the troubleshooting steps I have recommended? If so, what did you find?

I have done the steps. It is not the theme (thank goodness). It was not any plug ins either, although going through the process somehow fixed the date icons to show the correct date:)

But my Add event page on the front end is still not working. The submit button is just dead.

    Hey @mike,

I unfortunately cannot log into your site, and also cannot see the Community Events submission page because it is behind a membership upgrade.

That may be part of the problem; I know you said you already did testing for conflicts, but I would recommend deactivating all plugins except for The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar: Community Events.

Let me know when your site is in this state; I will take a look at the Community Events submissions page to see if there are any JavaScript errors and et cetera.

Next, please also share your system information as described here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thank you!

Here is the system info below. We are using a membership plug in, and the Community Events worked great for awhile, so i assumed it was not the membership plug in.

Thank you @Mike. In my reply above your last one, I wrote this:

Let me know when your site is in this state; I will take a look at the Community Events submissions page to see if there are any JavaScript errors and et cetera.

Can you let me know about if/when your site is in the state I described there with all plugins except The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar: Community Event disabled?

yes I can let you know. but this requires the entire site to be shut down, which means no money, as the membership plugin is how we get paid. So I would need to know that you would be able to look at it after I get the site in the state you want. Basically, when I get the site right for you, I can’t wait 3 hours before you are ready to take a look. Is there a way to time this closely?

By the way, you have been great and very helpful.

    Hey Mike,

Thank you so much for your patience here, especially over the weekend as well while we were offline.

I totally understand your concerns and will do what I can to work with them; a simple thing here might be to just not have to rely on me period – in other words, if you’re familiar with your browser of choice’s JavaScript console, you can do the steps I recommended and then just look at the problematic pages with your console open. Are there any JavaScript errors when you do this? If so, can you report both the error AND the file URL that the error is reported to be coming from?

If you need me to check things out, I unfortunately can’t think of a way to truly coordinate a perfect three-hour window or something – I’m sorry about this! And if you have to do this, as long as you let me know in this topic as soon as you’ve done the steps on your site, I will get to this as fast possible and check in on this thread as much as possible.

With that urgency in mind, do you think it would still be possible to do with perhaps a warning on your site to users like “We are working on some features of the of the site at the moment, apologies if you experience any odd behavior!”

Just an idea – let me know what you think @Mike!

here is the javascript error i get on the page:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘toLowerCase’ of undefined

    events-recurrence.js:414

    Here is where it is:

    http://www.femfessionals.com/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/resources/js/events-recurrence.js?ver=3.12.6

    maybe that helps?

Thank you so much @Mike! If you check your console for this after each step in our troubleshooting steps (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/), does it go away at any time along the way after a specific plugin is deactivated, or after you change your theme to a default theme or something?

I’m sorry about that being the best step at this point – but I don’t have this JS error myself so it stands to reason that it could be the result of a code conflict.

Let us know what you find!

    Sincerely,
    George
