Special date problem

We need to set an event for April, 24 2016. This is not possible without getting the error shown in the screenshot. We have deleted the event, re-created it and also updated the plugin. Nothing changed. What can we do?

Hey @Manuela,

I’m really sorry to hear about this. I can create events on that date fine and there are no other reports of this problem, so I think something is going wrong specifically with your site.

With that in mind then, can you share your “System Information” with us? Here’s how → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Also, do any errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:

define('WP_DEBUG', false);

to this:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);

That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.

We thought, it might be the time zone setting? If I try to update its settings, I get the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function format() on a non-object in /web/virtual/www20/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/Timezones.php on line 121.

I’m really sorry about this.

1. When you say you “try to update the settings”, can you clarify exactly what you mean?

2. If you go to Events > Settings in your wp-admin and just click “Save Changes”, without actually changing anything, does that same error come up again?

When you get to the point where The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro are the ONLY active plugins on your site, try creating a new event with the same settings and date – in this state, do the same problems arise?

Hey Manuela,

Thanks for your patience with this!

You mention things with the default theme active on your site in regards to question #3 above – however, just to be clear, have you tried things on your site with ALL plugins deactivated except The Events Calendar? This means even Events Calendar Pro should be disabled.

1. In this state, what happens when you create a new event?

2. What happens when you update time zone settings again?

3. What happens if you create an event just one day after this day that has problems? So, in this state, with ALL plugins deactivated EXCEPT The Events Calendar, what happens if you make an event on, April 25 2016 at the same time as the one on April 24?
