Single events page – Page not found. Needs permalink with date (The Events Calen

Hello,

Hope you are well! I have gone to the world’s end trying to figure this out but after a copious amount on forums, I have found the answer but do not know how to implement the change I need. When I click on my event and go to the single events page, I get a 404 Error and flushing the permalinks is not my problem. It seems that with the recent upgrade of WP, the permalinks are being trimmed and the date of the event is cut off from the permalink. So, http://mcr.fitz.cam.ac.uk/event/welcome-back-party/ throws an error but http://mcr.fitz.cam.ac.uk/event/welcome-back-party/2015-04-24/ does not. If I set my permalinks to default, the event pages work but I would like to be able to use the post_name permalinks.

Which file (and how) do I have to amend to stop WP from changing the permalinks? Can I use default permalinks perhaps just for event pages?

Hey Masao,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I took a look at your site and noticed the issue you’re describing. By default, you shouldn’t need the date of the event added to the slug for the event to display so the first link should be working.

Unfortunately I can’t offer too much support for our free plugin here in the Pre-Sales forum. I can suggest that you check out our 404 tutorial as well as our Testing for Conflicts procedures for further guidance as well as posting a thread in our WordPress.org forum.
