ParticipantGot a complaint about a clients single event posts returning a 404 error when clicking on an event off the front page, noticed this WAS indeed happening, and when I went to investigate/troubleshoot I noticed that additionally once we added the single event, that we no longer could locate it in the backend of the website – it is just missing/hidden.
Oddly enough, as I went through your troubleshooting steps here (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/) I discovered that if I set it back to default permalinks, the front page instance of the single event worked again. (though the event was still nowhere to be found in the admin area – it is just gone.) Tried all your suggested troubleshooting and fixes – including the functions code. Nothing worked and with the event being hidden in the back end, we have no way to edit it once it has been posted.
I have suggested they choose “Event Series” and choose “once” and that seems to help the listings stay visible AND the links work. Hopefully that bit of info helps.
Switching to the 2017 theme fixed it, but changing themes is not an option. This theme is a custom one unfortunately.
Please help!

KeymasterHi Ryan,
Thanks so much for reaching out and for providing me with all of this information!
It sounds like you have isolated the theme as the issue here.
Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.
Basically the goal here is just for me to confirm that this issue is present on the latest version of our plugin. I cannot guarantee that I can provide a resolution to this issue.
Please also note that support for theme conflicts is limited as stated in our support policy.
You may also want to reach out to your theme developers in the meantime to see if they have any solutions for you on this issue as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantI am unable to see your debug log image.
Unfortunately I do not have access to the theme developers, and I do not develop themes, or use custom post types the way they did so I am lost with trying to troubleshoot this.

ParticipantUnfortunately our whole back and forth was really un-helpful. I don’t like the way the client’s original developer created this site, but changing the theme isn’t really an option. Also I am NOT a theme developer so I have no clue how to use that error screenshot to troubleshoot. Do you have any other ideas I can try to get this to work, or do you have any suggestions on a developer to pay to take a look and fix the integration? Trying to avoid having to find a different calendar for them since they really like yours otherwise.

KeymasterHi Ryan,
Unfortunately I cannot provide further assistance on this issue, as per our Support Policy, as it is an issue with the theme and not our plugin.
We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime
