ParticipantSo we tried removing the single-event.php file in the Avada theme folder and nothing changed, I also tried moving the version from /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/ to there and nothing changed. I’ve double checked under display the template is set to default. I will try testing locally.

MemberGood evening Joanna,
Thank you for going through all the steps to try to establish what is going on.
Please keep me posted on the results of your local tests and on what happens. You will probably notice the event details being displayed in the correct spot while switching back to a default WordPress theme.
On the subject of getting rid of the Avada template customization for single events, I would:
- Also take a look at the functions.php of your Avada Child theme
- Ask the theme authors how they would go about that
Hang in there!

ParticipantYeah it looked fine in local testing without avada. Is there a way to disable to default sidebar on a certain page? Like if I don’t want it to appear on the month view or the single events view?

MemberGood afternoon Joanna,
This is a great question. The fact that there is a sidebar or not is actually based on 2 things:
- What your setting is for Events template in Events -> Settings -> Display
- What your theme’s rules are for archive.php and the default page template (which you can customize) based on what you selected in the option above
In other words, if you create a child theme you could tweak it to your liking by:
- Check out the forums of Avada or ask the theme authors for the best way to achieve the result you are looking for
- Using our Themer’s guide as a starting point to get a sense of how the templates work with conditionals based on the view you are looking at. You can use our functions from the functions archive for that very purpose. Here’s an example of that: https://theeventscalendar.com/function/tribe_is_list_view/
- Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
