Adam
ParticipantI’ve done two.
The Youth Cartel – http://theyouthcartel.com/events/ (Thanks for the category colors tutorial)
Urban Youth Workers Institute – http://uywi.org/events/Both are done on the Thesis framework. Getting stuff to work via custom.css was bit tedious, but totally doable by playing with the variables.

MemberGreat work, Adam – these both look so nice, and the Youth Cartel site in particular stands out as one of the slickest endeavors in professional minimalism I’ve seen in a while. Thanks for sharing them both.

ParticipantFinally have something to show here, loaded live last night.
The site itself still has a bit of work to do, but the calendar is finished. I’ve made quite a few mods, mostly styling and some functional. A lot of inspiration from some of the other sites in this showcase thread – so thanks!
http://www.gosfordnetball.com.au/calendar/
– Category colour coding on the calendar view
– Fit on a 630px wide main body
– Showing the category (and colour code) on the calendar tool tip view
– Category colour coding on the list view: http://www.gosfordnetball.com.au/calendar/upcoming/
– Excerpts on the list view instead of the full post
– Grouped events by day on the list view
– Display the category on the list view
– Repeat of all the list view changes, on the venue view ( http://www.gosfordnetball.com.au/venue/adcock-park/ )
– Styling of the Upcoming Events widget, including category colour coding
– A few bug fixes
– And importantly (for me), imported 200+ events from a CSV, including a hack to import the categoryI’d still like to do a bit of work to do on the single event view still, but it’s ok as it is. I did a bit of styling work there, added a divider, changed the order of some of the fields and added arrows for the next/prev event links.
Thanks for looking, feedback welcome.

ParticipantAlso fixed and styled the “event has passed” label.

MemberGreat stuff, Mike – thanks for listing out exactly what you’ve done, it was cross-checking against that list that really caused it to dawn on me how much customization you’ve done here. This is great and a super example of how you can generally get the plugin to meet whatever design needs you have with the right dev chops. Great work and thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hearing what other users have to say on the feedback front 🙂

MemberHow do I add thumbnail images to the sidebar list, as seen in the following showcase example by Ernie:
http://www.8asians.com (right column, scroll down to “APA Events.”)
Additionally, how can I get the images to integrate with the homepage slider?
Thanks in advance!February 14, 2012 at 11:07 am #15183Rob
MemberHey Fabrice. Mind moving this over to its own thread? Probably not the best place for this discussion, as we’re tracking just showcase comments here. Please post that comment in its own new thread and we can respond appropriately from there. Thanks!

ParticipantWe’re still a work in progress, and looking foward to seeing the features list of upcoming next release, but thought we’d share where we are today and solicit feedback(site still in development):

Calendar flows out of “What’s Happening” news page:

MemberRichard: that is awesome! The colored categories are looking slick and really make the individual events pop. And it looks like, on the real world side, the synagogue is about a 10 minute walk from my home/office here in Oakland…small world.
Thanks again for sharing.

MemberMan, that is a solid looking site Christina! You’ve done some of the cleanest category color coding I’ve seen so far, and the registration form you’ve got in the individual entries looks great too. Thanks a lot for sharing.

ParticipantHere’s my Carolina Epicurean Culinary Events Calendar: http://carolinaepicurean.com/events/
I’d love to tweak it further, but need some more detailed tutorials as I’m not a coder (wish I were!).
LOVE what Christina has done on spectrumsportsacademy.com/events/!

ParticipantThanks Laura 🙂 BTW, I’m going to bookmark your calendar. I had no idea there were so many food events going on in my home state!

ParticipantChristina, I really like the way you organized and colored categories and “sub-categories” on the spectumsportsacademy.com/events calendar. Compact and very user-friendly. Re NC food events: I’m anxiously awaiting Community Events add-on for my calendar as it’s growing from covering the “tip of the iceberg” to numbers of submitted events that aren’t always easy to keep up with on a manually entered basis.
