Search bar doesnt work

When we enter a search in the agenda search bar we dont get any results.

Before we can proceed, can you please send along your System Info? That will greatly help me to troubleshoot what might be happening.

I’d like to confirm that you’ve gone through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.  Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists.

Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard » Updates). 

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.

In addition:

I now see that when i set a filter or enter search term, the results are loaded in AJAX but as i said before returns a blank screen, though when i then refresh the page i get the results afterall. Seems like something going wrong in the AJAX loading part?

I have set theme\tribe-events\list to “list-old” and then the search function does seem to work. So there’s some customization to the templates causing the error, but which?

Hi there Hein

If the functions were customized, I don’t have a clear way to read and see where the error might be. I’d suggest commenting out sets of functions one at a time to narrow down where the conflict is. https://codex.wordpress.org/Commenting_Code can walk you through the way to comment your code while testing.

After you find the conflict, do feel free to share that snippet of code here. We might be able to take a quick look at just that section and see what might be happening.
