This is a carryover from this ticket: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/data-not-holding-and-unable-to-preview/ AND https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/conflict-with-woocommerce-intuit-payments-gateway-and-more-of-the-same/?action=answer&reply_id=1457854&check=99ab098d6e475b5ea3a23417eed75016

I am already working with the other plugin people to try to find a resolution for the first issue but the 2nd issue (recapped below) is an Events Calendar Plugin issue as stated in the last statement of the last ticket.

You asked, “With that new issue, if WooCommerce Intuit Payment Gateway plugin is deactivated, do you still have this issue?”

And the answer I provided in the original ticket states, “This “new” issue still occurs with a default theme and all plugins but yours deactivated.”

This was there for you along with everything I needed to allow you access to the site to troubleshoot.

RECAP: We are having a similar issue (delay in updating, preview etc.) when trying to update a location. The venue shows up in the list and when selected, it simply will not accept that venue. We have tried adding a new venue and even tried adding a different post with the same information for the event but still cannot get the venue to “stick”.

ONCE AGAIN… This issue still occurs with a default theme and all plugins but yours deactivated.

ATTENTION: Please cc [email protected] so I can be sure to receive a reply this time. Last time I only got the closing ticket email, no replies.

    Hi Kerry,

Thanks so much for reaching out again!

I’m sorry to hear that you are still experiencing issues with your site.

Unfortunately we cannot log in to your site per our Support Policy, but I will do my best to assist you here.

We also cannot reply to an email address, as this is a forum with thread replies; You just receive emails as notifications that the thread has been updated.

In any event, let’s jump back into the issue.  As a first step, can you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Here is what we see in the De_Bug… Keep in mind, we have reinstalled all the plugins and the theme for our users.

Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; BW_RecentArticleWidget has a deprecated constructor in /home/nutriti/public_html/wp-content/themes/wellness/inc/bw_recentarticlewidget.php on line 12

Notice: The called constructor method for WP_Widget in BW_RecentArticleWidget is deprecated since version 4.3.0! Use
    __construct()
instead. in /home/nutriti/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3902

    Thanks, @kerrycarron.

We are having a similar issue (delay in updating, preview etc.) when trying to update a location. The venue shows up in the list and when selected, it simply will not accept that venue

So to be crystal clear about this:

    • You are creating a new event or editing an existing one
    • You already have a number of venues defined
    • When you try to select a venue for the event, the dropdown doesn’t respect your choice

Can you clarify if it initially seems to work, but comes “undone” after you save the event – or is the problem with the venue selector (the fact it isn’t letting you select a specific venue) already apparent before you save/hit the publish or update button?

I am also curious to learn if there are any Javascript errors. Would you be able to open your browser’s Javascript console (see links below to learn more about doing this) and look for any errors – particularly “type errors” – that appear there?

    Thanks!

When you try to save an event after selecting the venue for the event, the venue doesn’t stick. And we had a location from one of the event drop off and it will not let us add the location back for that event.

I will have to address the javascript request when I have more time to research how to provide that for you.

OK, I’ll look out for your update 🙂

This doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem, nor can we replicate it – so it certainly has all the hallmarks of being a conflict of some kind.

One other thing you might look into: occasionally strange caching issues have caused Javascript problems that are hard to pin down, because older versions of Javascript files are served to some or all visitors even when they shouldn’t be.

To that end, if you use caching plugins or if your hosting provider offers caching at their level, try clearing it. Ditto if you use a service such as CloudFlare … try wiping the cache (in the case of some services, it may be there is a delay before this takes effect).

    Hello Barry,
First, Thank you all for ALL the help. I know support can sometimes take a long time when working with designers/developers and their clients (especially if a committee is involved).

Second, although this ticket was not completely resolved, I no longer need to address this issue as the client has abruptly moved to SquareSpace.

Lastly, keep up the great work.
