Creating an event that has a ticket is not working as expected.

It does not let me preview my events before publishing. When I do select publish it just continues to “think” about it and never lets me know it’s published. (Upon further investigation, it appears if I close the event and refresh, it has created a draft.

Sometimes, it does not let me go back in and edit or change an event. If I need to change or add something on any certain event it makes me start over.

I think that problem has something to do with adding the tickets. It will let me preview events up until after I add the tickets.

We found a less than ideal workaround if we follow this procedure…
    1. Add New event
    2. Add Title
    3. Add Content
    4. Add The Event Calendar Meta Box data
    5. Select Event Category (sidebar)
    6. SAVE DRAFT
    7. Open Tickets Meta Box and add Ticket data
    8. Save Ticket
    9. SAVE DRAFT – if this takes too long, click the X in your browser to stop it from loading… it should save the draft.
    10. Check your data for accuracy because I could not get it to load a preview.
    11. Publish
    12. Review the Live version through the front end.
    13. Select event or Find out more link to verify.

NOTE: I WAS able to edit once published and make changes to drafts.

    Hi Kerry,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1.    A conflict with another plugin

    2.    A conflict with your WordPress theme

    3.    A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1.    Make a backup of your database

    2.    Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
