GuestTo clarify: client wants some users to be able to create events, but does not want them to see those fields at all.

MemberGood afternoon Mike and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.Does the paid version let me remove Location, Organizers, Event website, Event cost, & Additional functionality for all user roles except the Admin?
That is a great question.
The best way to achieve this would be with our Community Events premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/ and combine it with our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
This will let you limit what users can do, including default values for certain fields.
Additionally, you can hide the fields you do not want your other users to see on that form specifically (we would gladly help you out with that).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestThank you. If they do not want the functionality of Community Events, and they purchase EC Pro, can those fields be removed for some user roles, or is Community functionality also required?
And, conversely, if they decide to go with Community, is Pro required?April 11, 2017 at 11:48 am #1268473Geoff B.
MemberGood afternoon Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to write back.
To clarify, the Events Calendar Pro will let you handle the default values for these fields.
Both plugjns are completely independent, but they integrate nicely with each other. So in other words, you do not need Pro, but you will lose the default values functionality (and all its other features) if you do not install it.
To hide those fields for certain user roles, the simplest approach would indeed be Community events, since it is a completely separate “form” than the admin interface and it is super easy to customize to your liking.
If, on the other hand, you want to unhook these fields based on their role in the wp-admin interface you are probably going to need some much more involved customizations.
You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestAh – so if my customer goes with just Community, then their users could use *just* that form and stay out of the dashboard completely, and if those users never create Events through the admin, there’s no need to modify it. Do I have that right?
