ParticipantHi again Cliff –
re: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/enable-disable/#dl_post-1147231
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tribe_is_event() (previously declared in /home/cfas9325/public_html/wp-content/themes/Avada/includes/avada-compatibility.php:37) in /home/cfas9325/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/functions/template-tags/general.php on line 179Getting discouraged!

ParticipantThe file says this :
if ( ! function_exists( 'tribe_is_event' ) ) { function tribe_is_event() { return false; } }I’ll comment it out of this file and see what happens.
This is on the live site though. 🙁August 5, 2016 at 7:10 am #1148122David
ParticipantCommenting out this line from the file allowed me to activate The Events Calendar – of course I have no idea if it broke something else!

MemberHi again, David.
Sorry you’re getting discouraged.
General information: since Avada includes our free/core The Events Calendar plugin into their theme, they’ll need to provide support for any errors related to their implementation of our code.
Specific to your error message: I haven’t seen this happen before, so I’d suggest activating Twenty Sixteen theme, trying to activate all your Modern Tribe plugins, and then try activating Avada theme after that.
Please let me know how things go for you.

MemberSorry, David. I cannot login to your site to help with this. We avoid logging into customers’ sites and I wouldn’t be able to modify anything on your site anyway. If there’s something you think I should see, please record a video or share an annotated screenshot.
I’d suggest following the advice I provided in my previous reply to get started toward your resolution. Here are our full recommended troubleshooting steps:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to TwentySixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any PHP errors you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts mode).
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
