ParticipantWe have delayed the update to 4.4 because of this reported bug:
Upgrade to 4.4 and new recurring rules messing up events in the calendar
We have a lot of events on our calendar, and use just about every option available for repeating events. Now the 4th minor update is released and this bug is not reported as fixed. Should we continue to delay? I have read the description several times, but I don’t really understand the bug. We do not have a test site. What do you advise?

ModeratorHi and welcome back,
I checked the status of the bug related to the thread you linked to, but it’s still “Open” which means we’re still working on a solution. I’ll provide what the bug description says in our Central reporting system:
Recurring events created prior to PRO version 4.4 are somehow “corrupted” and are producing errors. The test event’s ‘Time & Date’ rules we’re basing this information off is: recur every week on Tuesday, 8-10am, for 12 weeks (starting January 11, 2017)
As always, you need to review the Testing for conflicts guide to eliminate the potential of a theme and/or plugin conflict. This is a required step to continue receiving support.
You mention you do not have a test site. I cannot recommend enough the benefits of having a test site where you can fully troubleshoot issues without risk of interrupting your live site. If you have XAMPP or MAMP or any other software allowing you to run WordPress on your local machine, it takes just a few minutes to “clone” your live site to your local machine. There are many easy-to-follow tutorials available around the internet, so I encourage you to take the little time it takes to set up a test site. My favorite plugin is WP Migrate DB Pro.
I’m unable to provide a concrete “yes” or “no” on whether or not the known bug will have an impact on the many events on your calendar, so I would either delay the updates until our Release Notes indicate this issue has been resolved or set up a test site and test until you have a definitive answer.
Have you looked for/seen any errors on your server’s error log? I’d review the Testing for conflicts guide, but make sure WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG are enabled on your site’s wp-config.php file. Any errors will display at the top of your page as you try to reproduce the conflict. I also recommend right-clicking your mouse and opening the ‘Inspect’ tool to see if any errors display in the console. Note what you find and please include it in your reply.
Keep me posted and have a pleasant rest of your weekend. Cheers!

ParticipantWe were hacked. We restored our website from a backup, but something seems to be wrong. We are getting this message in the error log:
[03-Mar-2017 15:49:50 UTC] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/snowdenoverlook/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Recurrence/Meta.php on line 1008
Can we re-install the last 4.3.x version of Calendar and Calendar Pro while we are waiting for this bug to be fixed in 4.4?
Thanks.

ModeratorOh no! Sorry to hear! Hopefully things didn’t get too ugly. I’ve been there myself, hopefully the troubles are almost over. You can downgrading to the version(s) that best worked for your site until we can get this issue resolved.
That error is most likely related to the bug. The developers can make that determination as they review each thread during the dev and QA process. The fix is set to be included in the next maintenance release barring any unforeseen circumstances. Regardless, we’ll update you here with that information once it’s available.
Let me know if you need any additional assistance on the matter and take care 🙂

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
