ParticipantMaking An Event Recurring Is No Longer Working.
The Only options that you get for this are Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Etc.But when you choose one of these it only allows you to select an end date.
You can no longer tell it to make the event recur on The 1st Thursday of each month or the 2nd Tuesday or the Last Friday or anything like that.
Why is this option no longer available?
How can I make it available again?

KeymasterHey there,
Thanks for reaching out!
I’m sorry you’re running into this issue – those options should still be available.
Can you make sure you are running the latest versions of all of our plugins and WordPress? You can also try re-installing Events Calendar Pro by following the instructions here.
If that doesn’t work, testing for conflicts is usually the best place to start – this will help us narrow down the source of the issue. If you could also enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY and try to recreate the issue, that would be helpful as well.
Can you please also share your system information with me?
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantI am running all of the latest versions of everything. And I updated & installed Events Pro Again. Nothing has changed. And there is no error. The option are simply not showing up.
How would I enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY and how would those help since this doesn’t seem to be a detectable issue/error?
This happened after an update.

KeymasterThanks for following up with those screenshots and verifying that you are running the current versions!
One other thing to check would be that you are running the current version of WordPress (4.8). You can also try re-installing The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro following these instructions here for manually updating our plugins (it’s the same process): https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/.
I saw in some previous posts that updating WordPress or reinstalling the plugins worked for some other users that were running into this issue. If that doesn’t help, then we’ll want to proceed with determining the source of the issue.
Enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY will help us determine if there are any errors occurring by allowing them to be displayed directly on the page. This is usually disabled on live sites for security reasons, and you’ll want to disable it again after testing. You can also do this on a testing site (if you don’t have one already, you can use a plugin like WP Staging to create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing).
You can enable them by going into your wp-config.php file and looking for define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false ); change this to define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true ); WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY may already be enabled, but if you see define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false ); you can change it to define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, true );
With these enabled, try again to add a recurring event, and see if any errors are displayed on the page after clicking on “monthly” (this is when the new options for recurring events should typically appear). At this point, you can also check your console for JavaScript errors (please see this page for instructions on how to do this – it depends on which browser you are using). If you haven’t already, I would also recommend checking to see if it works in another browser.
Testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins is also going to help us figure out what’s going on here. Since this occurred after an update, it could be that the latest versions are conflicting with something else on your site. Again, you may want to do this in a testing environment. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/, but it basically means switching back to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Seventeen) and deactivating all plugins besides The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro, then reactivating the plugins one at a time to see if activating any of them causes the problem to occur again. If it does, there is likely a conflict with that plugin.
If you could share your system information with us, that would be very helpful as well! You can do so by following the instructions here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/.
I understand it can be frustrating having to follow all of these steps, but they are important in determining the source of the issue. Please let me know if you need help with any of them, and thanks for your patience as we work on getting this resolved!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
