I have a similar issue to recent tickets here and here.

A recurring fortnightly event starting in early March shows the event an hour earlier on 28th March.

    Details are as follows:

    WP Timezone is London
    Server Timezone is ????
Timezone handling of TEC is ‘Use the site wide timezone everywhere’
Timezone setting of individual events is Europe/London (which switches to London in drop-down when you click the link.

Hi. Sorry you’re experiencing this known bug.

Its fix is scheduled to be released soon. Please note, however, that once the fix is released, you’ll need to re-save events to re-generate the recurrences.

I marked this thread as Pending Fix, which means it should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands at this time.

I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

Just over two weeeks away from start of DST and no word yet on a fix for this issue. Are we seriously looking at the end of March for a fix?

It would help to have this confirmed as we can maybe put something in place on the sites to explain the event display errors. Not happy with this situation.

Hi. Sorry for this being an issue. I know it’s frustrating (for you and for me).

The thread you linked to actually turned out to have a plugin conflict on their site, but the information (a late March release) is probably still correct.

Most users do not have any issues with DST when using a city-based timezone, like you are, which is why it’s difficult for us to reproduce.

The bug is logged with our developers, but I don’t have any specific updates to share at this time other than they’ve been working on it.

One workaround might be to change the recurrence series to end just before DST and then create a new/separate recurrence series that starts after DST.

Again, this thread should receive an update once there’s new information to share.

Now that the original pre-DST event has passed, would it be the right thing to do if I now ‘edit single’ and edit the event for 28/03/2018?

When I attempt to I receive the alert

“You are about to break this event out of its series.
You will be able to edit it independently of the original series.
    This action cannot be undone.”

    Which is slightly disconcerting…

    Please try this:

Set your site and event time zone to a named time zone, not a manual UTC offset.

Then re-save the event and see if it fixes the issue (where you see the progress bar for generating the recurrence series).

Please let me know how this goes for you.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
