I got events calendar pro on my development environment. When i create a recurring event it works perfect.

I cloned my development site to the live environment. When i create a recurring event it creates only a few and then stops. No errors, no console errors.

Since i cannot disable plugins, theme’s etc on my live environment i cloned the live to my development environment. I wanted to disable and debug there.. but on development the clone works perfect! Both development and live are on the same server. I’ve got no clue where to look and how to debug. How can i solve this problem?

    Hey @amazing,

Sorry to hear about this inconsistency of behavior!

To help with troubleshooting, can you share the “System information” of both sites? Here’s how to share system information for a website → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

I’ll look for any inconsistencies and we can go from there.

    Thank you!

Thank you so much for this, @amazing!

It may not seem like an important detail at all, but one thing that stands out to me as inconsistent is that on your DEV site, every plugin is single-site activated, whereas on your LIVE site, some plugins are network activated.

The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro are two such plugins. So, on your LIVE site, try network-deactivating these plugins, and instead just active them on an individual site-by-site basis.

Once you do this, does the behavior of these issues change at all?

In addition to this, the version numbers are a bit behind, so the next step you can try is to update The Events Calendar to 3.12.6, and update Events Calendar Pro to 3.12.6 as well.

    Cheers!

    Hi George,
i checked the single site activated vs the network activated plugins but they where already identically activated on both sites. The development site only had one extra plugin which i removed. To test this further i activated the events calender + events calendar pro on single site (after updating both to v4.0).

Now the development site won’t create recurring events anymore so maybe were onto something.

Thank you for sharing all of this information and for your patience with this!

You do not need to share any more “System Information” blocks here now.

What are the exact problems on the Live site specifically now? Is it still what you wrote in your first post here? – “When i create a recurring event it creates only a few and then stops. No errors, no console errors.”

If not, then what are the issues now?

Thank you for your patience @amazing!

Yes, only the issue occurs now on both live and development. First it only occurred on the live environment. From the 50 recurring items it should create it only creates 2-3 and stops.

I appreciate your patience with this! Unfortunately, I am unable to recreate this exact behavior – the fact that the issue occurs both on live and development is actually helpful though, because it reveals that there is a common cause of the problem. Thus, I would recommend running through our full set of troubleshooting steps on your development site.

Those steps can be found in detail here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

Try creating a new recurring event with several occurrences after EACH step in that process! See if the issue where only two or three events are created is resolved anywhere in the process and let me know what you find 🙂

    Thank you,

I followed your advice and with step 1 (changing themes to default) it worked again on my test site. After that i switched back to my original theme and it kept working… so now i’m really lost here to what the problem is.

    #1038624

I did the same on my live environment (switching to default theme and back). It still doesn’t work on live.

Thank you for testing this! And for your continued patience – I’m really sorry that this isn’t resolved yet.

I’m wondering – did you happen to create a new set of recurring events during that testing process on your live site? If so, are any of these events still up on your site and visible with a link to them? And finally, if this is so, can you link to one of these events?

Regardless of whether you have a link above or not, I’m wondering – do you have the same web host for both sites?

I would recommend contacting your web hosting provider at this time to report these issues – and also your testing thus far into this.

If you can do this, let us know what they say. I will continue to try to recreate this and otherwise investigate this in the meantime.

Thank you for your patience – this is an issue not reported by anyone else and one that we are not able to recreate yet, so thank you for being patient with us while we work through the possibilities here!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Thank you for this!

If you deactivate WPML completely, and try creating a recurring event like this, does anything improve?

When i set the rights of the events-calendar-pro plugin folder to 775, the recurrence works correctly.
I think that there is a issue with the rights of the “the-events-calendar” and “events-calendar-pro” plugin folders.

Can you confirm that this is the issue?
