Hi,
I’m Valentina Brioni,
I’m managing an issue for a client who has a pro version of events calendar (I can provide you an access if you need to verify).
Since they did the last update, they’re experiencing an issue with recurring events: it gives you a 404 error.
I tried a few things and found out what’s the problem: now wordpress use an italian URL, trying to reach – for example – http://www.cinemateatromacmazzieri.it/evento/test/tutti/ instead of http://www.cinemateatromacmazzieri.it/evento/test/all/ (tutti in italian means all). What can I do to fix it?
Thanking you in advance,
Valentina

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the 404 error message your client is getting.
I would love to help you with this topic. As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this glitch
We are actively working on a fix for this.Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point.
But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.
Thank you for your patience as we see this through.
In the meantime, if in the .po file you change the translation back from ‘tutti’ to ‘all’, then the URL will show the English version.
Let me know if that works.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

Thank you in advance
Valentina

Thank you for writing back and for trying to provide the system information.
Unfortunately, it looks like the system information cannot be retrieved on our end.
It looks like you might need to manually copy-paste it in a private reply.

As for the po files, I would recommend reading the following article on that very topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/
Let me know how that goes.

January 24, 2017 at 3:08 pm #1223242Geoff B.MemberGood evening Valentina,
I am sorry this did not fix the issue for you!
This could be caused by a couple of reasons.
First, you need to make sure that there are no italian language files for our plugin in /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins
If there are, they will override the ones you replaced in /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/lang/Secondly, after these changes, you will need to re-save your permalinks (WP admin > General > Permalinks).
Finally, if none of that works, a temporary workaround would be to use a redirection plugin.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

I found out there are some italian files inside these 2 folder you told me (/wp-content/languages/ …AND… /wp-content/languages/plugins), you can see the images attached here. Was that you meant? So, now what can I do?
I didn’t understand the next step… sorry… can you explain?Thank you,
January 26, 2017 at 10:14 pm #1224924Geoff B.MemberGood evening,
Thank you for your answer.
It looks like there are none of our files in these 2 folders. Here is what I would recommend:
- Upgrade to the latest version of our plugins (we just released an update today)
- Download and Unzip the following file: Italian_4_4_1Propatch
- Drag and drop the 2 files in the unzip to /wp-content/languages/plugins
I tested this and it works perfectly with a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen.
Hang in there!

January 30, 2017 at 5:06 am #1226085AterParticipantHello Geoff,
Thank you for your attention.
I’m a little worried about this update… so I’ve two more questions:
– My WP theme is Avada, is possible to know what could happen with this update?
– How can these files interact with the theme?Your plugin is installed in a customer site… that’s why I don’t want to have problems with this stuff.
Thank you in advance,
January 30, 2017 at 10:04 pm #1226657Geoff B.MemberGood evening Valentina,
I will gladly answer your concerns
– My WP theme is Avada, is possible to know what could happen with this update?
Nothing will happen to Avada. These language files are simply related to the Events Calendar.
Worst case scenario, you can simply delete them if they do not work.– How can these files interact with the theme?
These files are not interacting with the theme, but they are with our plugins.
Basically, what I did is I changed the translation back from ‘tutti’ to ‘all’.
This will buy you some time and let URL show the English version.Once the official update is out (you will be contacted), you can delete these files.
Let me know if there is anything else.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
