GuestHello,
I’m exploring the use of The Events Calendar and associated plugins after seeing that it now comes bundled with the popular Avada WordPress theme.
Here is what I am trying to achieve:
To list multiple types of event.
Some events will be happening every day between 2 dates, and these will have multiple time slots available each day. So, for example, Event 1 starts on Dec 10th and ends on Dec 17th and is available to book at either 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm etc.
Some events will be only on one day and include only one time slot.
Some events will be only on one day and include multiple time slots – e.g. am/pm or available to book at either 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm etc.
Tickets will be required in advance of attending for all events. Some tickets will require full payment, others will require a deposit to be paid and others will require no payment but registration.
Events will have limited capacity – e.g. 40 places per time slot.
Checkout of tickets happens online, payable ideally via PayPal.
The events should be categorisable and displayed in either (ideally both) list (with images) and calendar formats. I should be able to display events from only one category on certain pages throughout my website.
Can somebody please point me in the right direction with regards to what plugins I will need to purchase premium licenses for to achieve all this? I believe I’ll need ‘Events Calendar Pro’ and ‘Event Tickets Plus’ but I’m not sure if I’ll need anything else!
The main thing I wasn’t able to see while browsing your demos and documentation was something to give me confidence that events happening every day between 2 dates with multiple time slots available each day can be configured using your product(s).
Any guidance or advice you can provide would be gratefully received.
Hoping it can all be achieved with The Events Calendar and associated plugins and excited to get started putting this together.
Many thanks

MemberHi Steve!
Thanks for your interest in our plugins.
In general, all the requirements you describe are able to be accomplished with Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.
Event Tickets Plus allows you to add as many tickets as you wish to a given event and sell those tickets using an e-commerce system like WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads. You can also configure custom attendee registration forms to collect information like t-shirt size or food preferences. You can learn more about the ticket creation process in the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/
The main thing I wasn’t able to see while browsing your demos and documentation was something to give me confidence that events happening every day between 2 dates with multiple time slots available each day can be configured using your product(s).
With Events Calendar PRO you can create recurring events like you mention, however, our Event Tickets plugin does not currently support tickets for recurring events. There is a workaround to this by breaking a recurring event our of its series, but this will completely unlink the event from the recurrence.
I’d recommend you install and make some tests with our free plugins (The Events Calendar and Event Tickets) so you can get a sense of how the ticketing system works and for yourself if it adapts to your specific needs. As a reference, let me also point you to the following article about managing orders and attendees for your events > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/
We also have a pretty cool refund policy, so if you purchase our plugins and they don’t fit your needs, you can ask for a full refund within 30-days of purchase > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
I hope that helps. Let me know if any follow up question.

GuestHello Victor!
Many thanks for your detailed reply.
I have done as you suggested and had a little play around with Events Calendar and Event Tickets. So far they seem to integrate well with my theme, however I still do have some questions about the Event Tickets Plus plugin – I think this is what I need to achieve my goals.
I don’t really want to create recurring events and have multiple event pages for the same event happening across several days, but rather I would like the user to select what date (and time-slot) they’re booking the ticket for. I’ll try to clarify below.
I’m unsure of a few things, namely the extent to which you can customise user options/input when they select and purchase an event ticket.
I have looked over this article – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/ – however my ‘+ New Ticket’ button is greyed out. Is this feature only available with Events tickets plus?
I’ve looked over the documentation I could find about creating new tickets and I would like to make sure of a few things.
Can you have multiple input fields when a user selects a ticket on the front end even page?
I would like the user to be able to select a time-slot from a predefined drop down list. I would also require them to be able to select a date from a predefined list. Finally, there would need to be a text input box where a user can add any special requirements. Of course, the admin would need to see all the selections when administering attendees in the backend.
I saw the option to select a t-shirt size on one of demos and I wondered if this functionality can be ammended to acomodate the above when creating new tickets.
Does Event Tickets Plus work with PayPal, or only WooCommerce?
I’d be really grateful for a response on the below as I’m primed and ready to purchase a plugin which will work with my site and facilitate the requirements outlined here.
I look forward to your response.
Many thanks

GuestHello Victor,
Having read more about collecting attendee information I believe I can achieve what I want.
I read this page – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/- and it would seem that I can collect the necessary information using fieldsets.
I have one main question around the fieldsets functionality.
If somebody selects more than one ticket in quantity selection, does each ticket purchaser get to fill out the fieldsets, or are the same options applied to all the quantity chosen? For example, if I choose 3 in quantity, will there be the option for 3 users to select 3 separate sets of options to the fieldsets?
Also, is there an option to apply a price increase if one of the fieldsets has been selected?
Many thanks

MemberHi Steve,
Great to know you could play around with our plugins 🙂 Let me answer your questions.
I have looked over this article – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/ – however my ‘+ New Ticket’ button is greyed out. Is this feature only available with Events tickets plus?
If you installed Event Tickets, you can create and sell tickets using our Tribe Commerce functionality. By default, Tribe Commerce is disabled, but you can enable it (Events > Settings > Tickets tab) to try it out and see the ticket creation process. You can find out more about this in https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/tribe-commerce-paypal/
Can you have multiple input fields when a user selects a ticket on the front end even page?
Yes, you can create multiple additional fields to collect attendee information for each of the tickets. You can learn more about this in the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/
You can also check out our demo event for Event Tickets Plus in the following link > https://wpshindig.com/event/event-tickets-plus-demo/
Does Event Tickets Plus work with PayPal, or only WooCommerce?
It does work with PayPal using Tribe Commerce, but you can also sell your tickets using WooCommerce and use PayPal as your payment method. If using WooCommerce, the I’d recommend having a look at the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/woocommerce-specific-ticket-settings/
Hope that helps 🙂

Can I only do this with Event Tickets Plus?
Can additional fields include a price increase once selected?
Many thanks

GuestI see that additional features are only available with Event Tickets Plus.
I have one more question re: the license for Event Tickets Plus.
I am developing the ticket bookings on http://new.client-domain.com and once it’s signed off I will move it to https://www.client-domain.com
Will the move from subdomains effect my license in any way?
Many thanks

MemberHi Steve,
Yes, additional attendee information is a feature of Event Tickets Plus.
In regards to the license, that won’t be a problem. You can easily change the license from one site to another by following the steps in this article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/
Is there anything else I can help you with? Let me know 🙂

GuestHi Victor,
Still trying to get to grips with the event tickets plus plugin.
It works great for events on a single date with capacity limited time slots on the given day.
However, I am having trouble achieving the following.
An example event happens every day between two dates – e.g. between 1st November and 15th December.
Each day there are 3 or 4 multiple timeslots available.
I would like the customer placing the order to select a date and time slot using a drop down and/or date picker (calendar) and for these to somehow be managed by limited capacity.
Is there any way to do this without duplicating the event page for every single day on which it takes place? This wouldn’t provide a great front end experience I don’t think!
Any advice you could offer here would be gratefully received.
Really liking what I see so far, but this could be a sticking point if I can’t achieve the above.
Many thanks

GuestIdeally, the customer placing the order would only select one single date and time and not for every attendee.
Look forward to any advice you can offer here.
Many thanks

MemberHi Steve,
Thanks for following up with this.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible with our plugins. If you need to sell tickets for different events (or the same event happening at different times) the only built-in way to do it is creating a different event and tickets for it. One workaround could be to create different tickets for each time slots for the event and specify this in the ticket description. But technically, the tickets would still be linked to the same event.
Hope it helps!
