    Hi there,

On my site, when you try to buy a membership product but don’t have a membership, woocommerce displays product restriction messages. However, Event Tickets Plus is overriding these messages and saying “this product cannot be purchased”.

It is the same problem as in this thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-tickets-plus-error-message-overriding-woocommerce-membership/

Another thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-to-add-only-members-can-purchase-to-event-tickets-plus/) says there is a hook you can use: (wc_memberships_product_purchasing_restricted_message). I asked a developer to code this but apparently “the hook is not being called entirely” so it is not working. Is there any other solution that I can try?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Before we begin, just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customizations like this one.

I’m afraid Event Tickets Plus is not fully integrated with WooCommerce Memberships yet. To get started I would recommend you to up-vote the following feature request:

    https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/13391079-woocommerce-memberships-integration

To help you get started, I believe that the hook you are looking for is wc_memberships_content_restricted_message. I would recommend you to contact WooCommerce support team for more information about their hooks.

We do have a list of recommended developers who could help you out with the code if necessary:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Thanks!

    Patricia

    Hi Patricia,

Yes Event Tickets Plus doesn’t fully work with WooCommerce Memberships
which is a shame. I voted for the feature.

The WooCommerce hooks don’t work because Event Tickets Plus overrides them
    as established in this topic:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-tickets-plus-error-message-overriding-woocommerce-membership/

It is an Event Tickets Plus issue, not a WooCommerce issue so there is
nothing WooCommerce can do about it. I already hired a developer but even
their messages were being overridden. From what you say, it sounds like
there is no way to stop the WooCommerce messages being overridden so I
    guess I can’t use them.

    Hi Lisa,

It’s certainly possible to achieve what you want, but as stated before, it remains something that we do not support “out of the box”: some amount of custom dev work would be required to make this happen.

Could you please specify how are you setting up these membership products? Just ran a test locally and wasn’t able to reproduce the error: restricted products and tickets returned the following message:

“This product can only be viewed by members.” and not “this product cannot be purchased” as described (screenshot here).

Please send us detailed steps on how to reproduce the conflict so we can take a look.

    Thanks,

    Patricia

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
