Organizer Name Already Exists / Venue Name Already Exists when it does not

Returned live site to using TEC 3.12.3.
This killed adding community events; 404 for the add-event page.
Re-saved permalinks. No change.
Re-updated to 3.12.6

An unexpected side-effect: every time the CE add page is first loaded (from different devices or browsers, or cookies deleted) Jetpack records a page view for “WP Router Placeholder Page”, with the url “http://www.jimtovey.ca/WP_Router/wp-router-placeholder-page/” (when used, this url returns the front page). The WP-Router plugin is NOT installed on this site, but I understand it to be integrated with the community events plugin and causing problems in the past. Since Jetpack did not change, I suspect this is TEC.

Strange to hear, this was working on your staging environment right? I mean The Events Calendar 3.12.3 with CE…

WP Router is indeed included inside The Events Calendar (that didn’t change lately), this page views weren’t logged in the past and they are now? Is this happening in the staging site as well ?

No, I have not seen this on the test site, but it doesn’t get any traffic either.

I had the same issue with version 4.0 (events calendar pro + community events + filter bar) and resolved with the fix that Nico gave us : http://m.tri.be/fix41497

@ Nico Santos: Could you let the devs know about this issue in 4.0 so they can fix it in the next release of version 4 ?

The fix Geoff refers is about anonymous user who couldn’t add an organizer or a venue, yours is even more specific 🙂 I installed both plugins to fix those issues.

Previous fix wasn’t working as expected in the live site of one of the folks here, that’s why I suggested Geoff fix as well. Hope to see this messy issue fixed in the upcoming maintenance release.

Success?! Tested Temporary Fix 39179 with TEC, Pro and Community each at 4.0 on live and local installs: can anonymously add venues and organizers.
