Hello –

Bough ta license for Even Aggregator. I downloaded and Activate The Events Calendar plugin, but there is no place to input my license for the Aggregator under Events -> Settings (there is no licenses tab). I have already read that this may be because the events calendar and events calendar pro versions are different, but I don’t have events calendar pro. All I have is events calendar with a license for the aggregator that I cannot enable. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi Aksel!

Thanks for reaching out to us and for using our plugins! 🙂

I’m sorry you are having trouble with that. Let me help you troubleshoot that issue.

First, could you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and see if there are any errors coming up in the debug.log when going to Event > Settings ? If so, please send us those reports.

When coming back, could you please share with us your system info by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ ?

Thanks,
Victor

Alright bare with me, I’m new to WordPress in general..

I enabled WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG through the wp-config file. I restarted the app pool and navigated to Events->Settings, but no error log was created that I could see (I looked in my default Word Press directory, would it have been created elsewhere?)

I’m also running into problems when trying to follow the directions to attach my system info. On the left bar under Events, there is no “Help” sub-menu I can click on. On the top bar under Events, there is a Help sub-menu, but when I click on it I am getting “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” I have verified the user I am logged in with has administrator permissions to Word Press. I have also verified that The Events Calendar is activated, and the version is above 4.3 (it is version 4.5.3).

Hi Aksel!

Let me try to help you with that. 🙂

If you enabled WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG, then in case there are any errors, they will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

If you are also having trouble seeing other parts of the plugin, then this could be due to a corrupted plugin installation. Could you please try deactivating the plugin, then delete it, install it again from scratch and activate? Does this solve the issue? You can also try making a manual installation by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/ (It says it’s for updates but will also work for this case)

Let me know how that goes. Don’t hesitate to ask any other questions and I’d be happy to help.

Best,
Victor

Hi Victor –

There is no error log being created in the wp-conent folder so I assume I’m good on that end.

I deactivated and deleted The Events Calendar. I then downloaded the zip and installed it and activated it manually with the same results. I deactivated and deleted it again and tried the install through Word Press rather than manually, but received the same results again.

Could there possibly be another plugin I have installed that is interfering with how The Events Calendar is supposed to function?

Thank you.

It appears that was the case. After deactivating my Simple Intranet plugin, everything works as expected and described with The Events Calendar.

Thanks for the help.
