ParticipantI see events listed for all of these facebook groups:
https://www.facebook.com/pg/swingxvictoria/events/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/490693954419117/events/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/UVicBallroom/events/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/cubansalsaclub/events/
https://www.facebook.com/pg/calientedance/events/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/265269613666246/events/
https://www.facebook.com/pg/RedHotSwing/events/I have tried import using the “events” pages as well as the base group page. E.g. https://www.facebook.com/pg/swingxvictoria/ and https://www.facebook.com/pg/swingxvictoria/events/
In each case, I get “Your preview doesn’t have any records to import” from the Events Calendar Facebook import feature. I’ve tried specifying a date and not specifying a date.
I’ve also tried importing individual events, and get the same result.
I REALLY want this feature to work, but so far, 0% functional.
Am I doing something wrong? Can the plugin not import these events? If not, why not?

MemberHi there Justin
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an effect on a number of our users.
As part of this, a number of new restrictions were applied to their Events API, which is the specific protocol Event Aggregator uses in order to import events, organizers, and venues. These changes went live with little notice to providers such as ourselves. At this point, it does not seem possible to reliably import any events, even if you created and ‘own’ events on Facebook and have linked Event Aggregator to Facebook using those same credentials.
This is frustrating for you, and for developers like us. As Facebook continues to alter what it allows us to access, we will continue to pursue a path forward for Event Aggregator to import Facebook events. We will continue to keep https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/ updated as this unfolds.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks

ParticipantI know that you have no idea what Facebook will or won’t do in the future, but perhaps your product manager or developers have some idea as to which direction Facebook is taking moving forward. Do you anticipate that the Faceook event import functionality will function at all in the future? Is this permanently disabled? Does your team have any plan of action moving forward, regarding this?
Please let me know.
Thanks,

MemberHi Justin
Our developers will continue to keep https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ as current with information that we know. Facebook has asked all developers who originally were submitted and approved for access several years ago to go through a similar resubmission. We have, and haven’t gotten a response. We really have no further information to share unfortunately at this time.
Thanks

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
