ParticipantIn Add New Event admin page, there is no option to add cost – there never has been that option since I installed both the free and the Pro plug-ins a few months ago. Is that normal?
Pic of what I see on that admin page is attached.

MemberGood evening Gibson and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the cost field disappearing on you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic. The short answer is no, this is not normal.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
It could be due to:
- A theme conflict. Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
- A version mismatch in the different plugins
- A conflict with another plugin.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Gibson,
Thank you for the system information.
By the sound of it, it looks like there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Additionally, could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.Let me know how that goes.

ParticipantGeoff – Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry about the late response. We’re launching in a week so we have our hands full. I started to go through the process of deactivating plug-ins and noticed pretty quickly that when I turn off the Event Tickets plug-in, the cost field reappears. When I turn it back on it disappears. So, that’s my short term solution. I’m sure that my client would like to also use that plug-in later on so I’ll need to revisit that after launch.
Have you guys seen that issue happen in the past?

MemberGood afternoon Gibson,
Thank you for writing back and for sharing your solution.
This is totally my bad, I missed this. Yes, as soon as Event Tickets is installed, it takes over the cost functionality.
If you want to keep Event tickets active AND use the cost field, you could use the following extension: https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/display-the-event-cost-field-when-ticket-plugins-are-installed/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
