ParticipantThe website info below is from the live site but I’m testing on a local development server.
4.510 works during debugging (deactivated all plugins and used the theme Twenty Fifteen). When I change back to my theme (all other plugins still deactivated), I get this error message and the timepicker stops working along with venue/location below.TypeError: $item.timepicker is not a function[Learn More] events-admin.js:94:4
when clicking on the file link following line is highlighted:
$item.timepicker( opts ).trigger( ‘change’ );It appears that the time picker is throwing up issues for my theme. You will also notice this line in the screenshot:
“This site appears to use a scroll-linked positioning effect. This may not work well with asynchronous panning; see https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Performance/ScrollLinkedEffects for further details and to join the discussion on related tools and features! ”This is as far as my debugging skills go…I’m not sure what to look at next. If you want to test on the live site I’d be willing to update both the Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro since the functionality for the customer doesn’t seem to suffer.

Reporting the same issue as: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/had-to-roll-back-to-v4-5-9-no-calendar-venues-or-organizers-in-4-5-10/August 14, 2017 at 12:59 pm #1335125bunyaadrugs
ParticipantSome additional findings which might be helpful. When I went to the widgets section in the dashboard I was unable to open any of the widgets until I downgraded the Events Calendar plugins to what they are currently on my main site. (The Events Calendar 4.5.6 and Pro 4.4.13
Something is interfering with some basic admin javascript functions. It appears to be with my theme but yet the theme functions perfectly with the rest of the plugins.

KeymasterHi Heike,
Thanks for reaching out and for including the screenshot! This is actually a known issue with the latest update of The Events Calendar (4.5.10). It is going to be fixed in the next maintenance release, but in the meantime, you can downgrade to the previous version (4.5.9) by following these instructions or edit the 4.5.10 version to add in the fix. If you would like to go this route, you can make these changes to the wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/Assets.php file.
Please let me know if you need any help with either of these options! I’m linking this thread to our internal ticket, so as soon as the permanent fix is released, you will be notified here. I do apologize for the inconvenience, and please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantUnfortunately the newest updates have not resolved the issue for me since it actually started with 4.5.7. It appears to be my theme which is slightly older and doesn’t get updated by the theme developer so I am stuck.
We do not have the resources in our small non-profit organization to redo the website so I will have to keep the Events Calendar at 4.5.6 and the Pro version at 4.4.13.
The Events Calendar is an excellent plugin and I hope I will not introduce vulnerabilities to our system by not being able to update. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

KeymasterHi Heike,
I’m sorry to hear the update didn’t resolve the issue for you.
We are a bit limited as to the support we can provide for plugin conflicts, but I will check with one of our developers and see if there are any recommendations we can provide to help you get this resolved!

KeymasterHi Heike,
I spoke with one of our developers, and he recommended creating a fresh WordPress install on a subdirectory (if you have regular shared hosting with cPanel, creating a new WordPress install for testing can usually be done with one click). From there, you can start with just our plugins enabled, and gradually enable your theme and then other plugins to determine the source of the error. Make sure to have WP_DEBUG enabled during this process.
If it turns out to be an issue with your theme, another option would be to work with a developer (we have a list of developers that we can recommend) to implement a fix for this issue. However, keep in mind that if the theme is not being updated any longer, these types of issues are likely to pop up again in the future as WordPress and other plugins continue to be updated.
I’m sorry I don’t have a better solution for you here, but please let me know what you find and if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer
