ParticipantJust updated to Version 4.6.9 today and all of a sudden the default Photos view on the home page show all events from the beginning of time. Same thing happens if I change settings to List view.
The default Month view works OK with the correct starting date so I have left it in this mode in the meantime.

MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this!
Could you please explain which method you used to set the Photo View as your home page? (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-make-your-calendar-your-sites-home-page/)

ParticipantSure:
-
WordPress Dashboard – Settings – Reading Settings – Homepage – “Your homepage displays”- “A static page” – “Main Events Page”
-
Events Settings – Display – Basic Template Settings – Default View – “Photo”

ParticipantWhen can we expect a resolution to this issue?
Otherwise please let me know how I can revert back to the previous version of the Tribe Events plugin to get our site operational again.
Thanks,
Geoff

ParticipantPerhaps I didn’t explain the problem well.
I have attached a screenshot of the site as it looks when set to default to Photo view on the homepage.
(Events Settings – Display – Basic Template Settings – Default View – “Photo”)
Ads you can see, rather than showing current events it show events from 2104 when we first started using The Events Calendar.
A response from you would be appreciated!

MemberGeoff, if you choose to, here’s how to downgrade: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/
I tried reproducing this issue with Twenty Seventeen theme and could not. Therefore, since this isn’t currently a known issue so I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
Please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions:
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

ParticipantHaven’t heard anything back from from you so I have downgraded the Events Plugins to previous versions and the site is now working again.
Great to have the Photos view back but strangely the Upcoming Events are ordered the wrong way now. It used to show the next event first in the list. Now it’s last. See: http://www.capitalblues.co.nz/
Versions:
The Events Calendar Version 4.6.8
The Events Calendar PRO Version 4.4.20January 19, 2018 at 9:51 pm #1431237Cliff
MemberThanks for that information. https://theeventscalendar.com/category/products/release-notes/ details the fixes and features of each version.
4.4.20.1 from December 20 fixes the incorrect ordering.
I’ve seen debug messages like that before, but I’m unsure how they might be related to this issue.
When running the latest version, do you only get these messages on the homepage when Photo View is set as the default view?

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
