Multiple users entering events

Is it possible for WordPress users to add their own events, to be featured on a main calendar, without editing/deleting others? For example, a festival website where many different groups will be holding events. We’d like them to be able to enter/edit their own event info (but it will be all part of one big calendar). I know this can be generally done with WordPress posts, but I’m not sure if it is applicable to events using your plugin?
