ParticipantWe bought and installed Event Tickets Pro, and we find our version very different from the online documentation
Many menu voices are missing and in the settings panel, we see non “Product” CPT and no droplist to position the Tickets and RSVP formsAm I missing something?

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for reaching out!
First, I see that you are running older versions of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus. Can you try updating to the current versions to see if that makes a difference?
Some options that you have seen might be coming from The Events Calendar, our (free) core events plugin. Can you install and activate that and see if that gets you the options that you’re looking for?
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantI updated all the plugins, but the problem still remains
If I enable only the free version of the Tickets plugin, I can see the checkmark to enable tickets on the Product CPT.
As soon as I enable the Pro version, the Product CPT disappearsFurthermore, whenever I try to update a WooCommerce product, the browser hangs, WordPress notifies me of missing connection and nothing happens.
To get back to the website, I need to shut down the browser, otherwise the site is unreachable (!!).For testing purposes, I cloned the site in a testing environment.
I disabled all the plugins but WooCommerce and switch to TwentySeventeen theme.
With this configuration, modifying a WC Product results in a PHP timeout error or PHP out of memory error.July 16, 2018 at 11:49 am #1576438Jennifer
KeymasterHello,
The “Products” option will be removed by default when using Event Tickets Plus, as tickets are WooCommerce products. You can add it back (see this post for an example code snippet), but keep in mind that this has caused problems for users in the past and is not recommended.
I also see that you are running versions of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus that are quite a bit older – can you try updating to the current versions (4.7.5.1 and 4.7.5 respectively) and see if that fixes the issue with the WooCommerce pages?
If you don’t see a prompt to update in the Plugins section of your Dashboard, you can do so manually by following these instructions.
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantThanks for the clarification about the Product CPT
I have updated your plugins to the latest available version (as you can see in the attached screenshot) but I still can’t update a product that has tickets attached.

KeymasterThanks for running those updates!
Are you getting this error when you update the ticket product (the WooCommerce version of the ticket), or have you added tickets to a different WooCommerce product (then get an error when attempting to edit that product)? If this is the case, which ticket types (RSVP, Tribe Commerce, or WooCommerce tickets) are you adding to the products?
Can you try increasing the PHP memory limit and see if you are then able to save?

ParticipantI also tried increasing the memory limit and the execution time, with no success
In the staging site, I still get a out of memory error

KeymasterThanks for clarifying that…I think the issues are arising from adding tickets (WooCommerce products) to other WooCommerce products. The ability to add tickets to products was removed early on because it was causing issues for several users, and since this is a customization (the plugin does not work this way by default), we are limited in the amount of support that we can provide for it.
If you need to link tickets to other products, then I would recommend taking a look at some of these Woo extensions.
However, I will check with the team on this in the meantime to see if there is anything that we can recommend regarding the memory error.

ParticipantA memeber of our developement team tried to find a solution to this problem.
I says:
“closing lines 1279-1290 of event-tickets/Tickets_Handler.php into an if clause mitigates the problem (you just cant handle tickets order, but everything else works”
Could you add these modification to the official version, so it doesn’t get lost on every update?

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for sharing that feedback! I can certainly pass this along to our developers, but unfortunately I cannot guarantee that we will be able to add official support for adding tickets to WooCommerce products.
As I’m sure you are aware, modifying core plugin files is not recommended, as any changes you make will be overridden the next time that you update the plugin. However, I’m glad that you have a solution for now!
If there is anything else that I can help with, please let me know.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics.
