ParticipantHI
I have map view set up on this page but would like it one more level zoomed in. It is set to 15 and responding in the individauls venues but not in the map on this page. How to fix? I have the following code for the height but I removed this and it made no difference to zoom. Ref attached shows what I want. thanks!!/* events mao height*/

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for reaching out!
That setting only affects the single event pages, as the map on the main events page will zoom to include multiple upcoming events in different locations. To change the zoom level on the main events page, you would need to do a customization. This post has some example code that you can use as a starting point.
We are limited in the amount of support that we can provide for customizations, but if you get stuck or have any questions, please let me know – I’ll be happy to try to point you in the right direction!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantThankyou, I don’t see how the extension helps as it is for adding multiple events for one venue. and the code snippet does what exactly?
I don’t see that this issue was resolved successfully in reading the post and I would think this is a fairly common issue which you should be able to answer. I am very surprised that the considering the annual cost the event calendar pro that the support seems to be so limited and very slow to respond.July 11, 2018 at 4:15 am #1572464Jennifer
KeymasterHi Lucy,
The code snippet and extension were only meant to provide example code that you can use as a starting point for modifying the map view.
I definitely understand how this might seem like a simple change, but since the map view is built to automatically adjust the zoom based on the locations of the upcoming events displayed in that view, this would require a code customization to change. For the single event views, there is only one venue, so that is why you are able to specify a zoom level in the settings. Having this same option for the main events view could lead to upcoming events being excluded if they are outside of the view with that zoom level. However, if this is a feature you would like to see added in the future, we’d love it if you could post the idea in our Feature Ideas Forum! We use this to gauge user interest in new features and help plan future development.
While we would love to help out more with customizations in the forums, unfortunately we do not have the resources to be able to include custom code as part of our premium support policy, as we need to ensure that we are addressing bug reports, troubleshooting requests, etc. in a timely fashion. For future reference, please note that we typically do not have support available during the weekends, so it might take an extra day or two for a response if you post on Fridays or over the weekend. 🙂
So with all of that said, if you’d prefer not to tackle this customization on your own, we may be able to assist you further. We do need to prioritize support requests from other customers at this time but I’ll certainly flag this with the team and – although we can’t make any promises – if we have time and space to come back and help, we’ll be happy to do so. Please let us know if you’d like to go this route so that you can be added to this queue.
If you urgently need help with this, however, you may instead wish to consider working with a suitably skilled developer or designer who can offer the additional level of support you require.

ParticipantWell I would like extra help if possible. I bought events calendar pro and community events so thats $178 per year, I would expect good support for that. I think this feature should certainly be built into the theme in future.
In comparison I pay $89 per year for Divi (elegant themes) and get 24 hour 7 day per week support for unlimited websites and the theme is always expanding to make more customisations available without needing to contact support or code.
I rather regret buying these plug ins and had no idea how quickly any customisation would need to be straight into the php etc and require quite advanced knowledge . Personally I think if you offered better support then the plug ins could be stretched to use their full potential, look good and be well integrated into themes and greatly increase your sales as a result. Thats my view anyway !

KeymasterHi Lucy,
Thanks for that feedback. We are always looking to improve wherever we can, and I definitely understand where you’re coming from with wanting to spend any additional money.
The reason that this feature is not currently there is what I mentioned previously about potentially cutting off upcoming events. Since the map only includes venues that have upcoming events, the appropriate zoom level can change dramatically over time, especially for sites that have venues in scattered locations.
We are more than happy to offer support for things like troubleshooting, assisting with known bugs, getting things set up, using plugin features, etc. We do try to provide additional, free customizations in the way of extensions, which you can find here. Many of these are actually the result of customization requests like this that we thought would benefit other users (or feature requests from our forum) and were able to put out at no additional cost. 🙂
I can pitch this to the team as a potential extension, but for now, I will go ahead and add this thread to the customization queue.
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantThankyou for your answer. I think what I am asking is pretty basic and
is extremely important to be sortted outJuly 13, 2018 at 12:26 am #1574393lucy maddison
ParticipantI would like to know what you advise me to do about this issue. It is imperative for the client that the map view can be at a closer zoom.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
