ParticipantI have Events Calendar Pro with Community events. The map view was working fine when first installed. Now it has stopped working.
When you click map view, nothing shows up…no events, no search bar. For individual events, the map feature is working fine.

ParticipantMy map view is also not working after the update. Neither is my week view.

ParticipantMake sure the box is checked in Settings > General to allow Google Maps, and also that you have checked the box to allow it on the Settings > Display page.

ParticipantThanks Patti, all that was done from the beginning. It was working, then it stopped. Suspect the update, and since Davis is having a similar issue, I am wondering if anyone else is also having this problem.

ParticipantAlso, to be clear…my map view shows nothing at all, other than the ‘HTML before events’ No search bar or anything else.

ParticipantJust noticed this warning I received when I clicked “view update page”.
file_get_contents(/home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/2587821/html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/readme.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/2587821/html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Changelog_Reader.php on line 52

ParticipantMy settings are also set to show the map view, and it did work before the update. I get a 404 error on the map and week pages now.

MemberHowdy folks! Thanks to you all for getting in touch here and sorry for any trouble here with maps.
First off, I’m going to primarily be addressing Pat’s question here. DAVIS, you’re certainly welcome to follow along and try any of the recommended suggestions, but it would be great if you could open a new thread so we can keep the communication streamlined. Sometimes issues that appear to be similar end up being due to different causes.
Pat, nice job finding that error notice. That’s definitely strange. I wonder if the plugin didn’t completely install for you during the update. Are you able to manually upload 3.10 for The Events Calendar, PRO and Community Events and try again? I just want to make sure we start on a fresh note as far as all files being in place.
Once you’ve done that, it would be great if you could try following these troubleshooting steps as a next course of action. We did test the latest update very thoroughly–including on a Genesis theme–but it’s always possible that there is something unique to your theme or one of the plugins that is installed and these steps will help us pinpoint that.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!
GeoffP.S. Patti, thanks so much for offering your help here as well–it’s greatly appreciated!

ParticipantThank Geoff. I am going to assume that I should just reinstall over the current installation, and not delete the existing ones first? Anyway, I am going to try that now.

MemberFor sure! That is a good call. You can save a copy of the old versions to your desktop and upload the new ones so you have a backup just in case. 🙂

ParticipantOkay, I tried to install Pro without removing the old one and the installation failed with error message saying that the directory was already in existence. So I assume I have to delete the current one. I can’t do that from the WP back end (no option to delete the plugin there).
So…should I just go in via FTP and delete the folder in the plug ins directory and then come back to WP admin and try reinstalling?
And what happens to existing events when I do this?

ParticipantOh, I forgot that when you deactivate a plug in you can then delete it.

ParticipantDeleted Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, Community Events
Reinstalled Events Calendar Pro – map view is still not working
Deactivated all other plug ins – map view and photo view not working. They are now throwing 404 errors. All other views (list, month, week, day) are working fine.
You can see them in the stripped down site here: http://6de.b37.myftpupload.com/events/list/

MemberHi Pat,
Thanks for working with me on this!
I just visited the link and it appears the site is still running a Genesis theme. Is it possible to activate a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) so we can see things from there? It would be interesting to see if there is a conflict specifically with Genesis.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff. Thanks for hanging in there with me. I just switched themes and the map is still not working. Also, we have been running the same Genesis theme from the beginning, and the map was working prior to the update. So, I think we can assume that the theme is not the problem.
