When I select “List view” in Event Calendar I get display of webpage from elsewhere in my site. When I enter tomorrow’s date in search bar, list view is correct, beginning from date entered.

How do I get default date in List View to be tomorrow’s date to avoid this problem of showing erroneous webpage?

    Good evening Gary,

Thank you for sharing your system information.

Could you please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

It is very odd indeed that the display should be that different.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Geoff,

Before I set up a sandbox to test for conflicts, I went into inspect the code and am curious if the problem is related to the placeholder “Date” for “tribe_bar_date” variable. When I enter the “list” format the first time, the data shown is not event data, but some other page on my website. If I enter a valid date on the search bar in the “Events From” field, the events are then displayed correctly. It seems the placeholder “Date” may not actually be a valid date, causing the list format to fail.

Also, after I display the list by entering a valid date, and pick an event to display its details and then return using the back arrow in the browser, it reverts to the list mode again with no valid date, again showing the incorrect page.

What is the default value of “Date”? Is it today’s date by default? How does “Date” get set and why would using the back arrow on the browser erase the date value used by the “List” function?

    Thanks for the help.

    Gary

    Hey Gary,

I do appreciate the extra attention and time you have put into this. Kudos!

You are most likely very correct in your observation (of not seeing event data where you should).
It is possible that this might be a code issue. In which case I’ll be more than happy to report this as a bug.

However, before we go there, since I am unable to replicate the issue you are describing, I still believe doing a simple set of tests for conflicts with another WP plugin or with your WP theme is the fastest way to establish if the odd behaviour does indeed come from the code.

In other words, the most efficient way to go is to isolate the issue prior to exploring the actual code of the plugin 🙂

Let me know what your findings are.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
