Hi, I’m using the free version and want to upgrade to use widgets. The current calendar only shows 5 events on the main page (list view) while there are 7 events in the database. Is this a limitation of the free version?

    For instance:
    – Main calendar view shows 5 events at : http://www.wtnschp.be/events/
    – Searching by a particular date shows 2 events (1 of which is not in the main list):
    http://www.wtnschp.be/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2015-11-22

Will this limitation be automatically lifted when installing the pro version?

    Hey Bart,

Thanks for your interest in the PRO plugin! This limit of 5 events is NOT anything imposed by our plugin(s) directly.

If you head to Events > Settings in your wp-admin, you’ll see this option which you should make sure is not 5:

Then, head to Settings > Reading in your wp-admin – make sure these options are not 5:

Then, unfortunately, if neither option here is set to 5, then that means another piece of software on your site is overwriting the events query 🙁 To figure out which software is causing the conflict, run through the troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

    I hope this helps!

Thanks, the 3 settings are still at 10 so that’s not it.

Weirdly enough, when looking at the calendar (main list view), only 5 items are shown. When clicking on “Next events”, no further events are found. But clicking on “Previous events”, the previous page is now shown with all 7 events present.

I’ll have a look at conflicts with other plugins first.

No plugins cause the issue. I use the Divi theme and must say I’m afraid to turn it off. It’s a very big site and I’m afraid that switching themes will mess up everything. Do you have any other solutions?

    Hey Bart,

Thanks for looking into all of this! What you wrote here unfortunately points out a query manipulation conflict:

Weirdly enough, when looking at the calendar (main list view), only 5 items are shown. When clicking on “Next events”, no further events are found. But clicking on “Previous events”, the previous page is now shown with all 7 events present.

If deactivating plugins alone did not help, I would recommend completing ALL and EACH of the steps here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

I relate to your apprehension in doing that; so, before you actually start that testing, can you first share your “System information” with us? Here’s how → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

I’ll see if anything is outright problematic, and try to recommend alternative solutions.

If this does not help, however, then unfortunately proceeding with theme testing and such is the best progression from here.

    Thank you!
    George
