    Hello,

We have purchased both The Events Calendar Pro plugin and the Filter Bar plugin. When we initially purchased those plugins we registered them successfully on our sites with no problem. Recently, I’ve noticed that we are able to register both plugins on our sites and it says it succeeds; however the license key doesn’t stick on the settings page and thus, we receive the messages on our WordPress admin about needing to register our products. If I login to My Account under the this site, it says that the products are registered to the correct domains, so I assume that the plugins are able to “call home” to validate themselves. I’m just not sure why the key isn’t “sticking” on the WordPress site.

    Hey @cacpro,

Hmm…If things work fine on the “call home” side of things and just don’t display (or seem to save) in your site’s settings page then there could be a theme or plugin conflict that prevents the option from displaying or updating.

If you’re eager to explore the possibility of this, you can run through the Troubleshooting steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

Basically, check on the license settings problem after each step in the process, and see if anything improves.

Your call here though – if you find that this behavior doesn’t produce any problems, then no need to do those steps if you don’t want to.

Let me know what you think about all this!

    Thanks for your help.

I swapped our theme out for the 2015 theme and I still see the issues. I also went ahead and deactivated all of the plugins with the exception of The Events Calendar plugins (base, PRO and Filter Bar). Still no luck. Generally, I wouldn’t really care about the message. But we aren’t able to do automatic upgrades of our plugins because they think that they aren’t registered. At least that is the behavior I am seeing. For example, we have PRO 3.9.2 on one site and it won’t allow for an automatic upgrade.

    Thanks!
    John

    Hi John,

Sorry for the issues. George is out, but I can help out today.

Can you confirm you are entering the license keys and getting a green validation message and then clicking Save Changes under the keys and getting a save confirmation.

Also, you can always manually update the plugins if you need to do it right away.

You can download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com and follow these steps for manual updates.

Let me know about the saving process and we can go from here.

    Thanks

    Sure thing.

I entered the key for The Events Calendar Pro and clicked “Save Changes” and I received a green message stating that the key was valid.

Glad to hear this John, thanks for the update – and apologies for my outage there for a bit, had to travel on somewhat short notice.

Brian’s reply here has seemed to help you resolve your issues with the keys validating and such – can you confirm that? If so, I’ll close out this thread 🙂

    Cheers,
    George

Well, it helped yes and no 🙂

I went ahead and manually updated the plugin and it worked fine but licenses still aren’t registering so I assume that the next time there is an update I will need to go through the same process. I would really like to get the plugins to update automatically since I can see us using them a lot more on future sites we build and I don’t want to have to manually update every site.

    Thanks!

I’m sorry to hear that some problems are persisting John – the issues are a bit odd, because if the “phone home” part works fine, but the keys aren’t saving, then there’s usually just a code conflict causing the failure of the option to save…

But you already tested for that, with no luck, so we’re not left with many other possible culprits here. I’m struggling to think of what could cause this.

I suppose you could give one last try at going to http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys and using “Disconnect Now” on the site where your license is registered, then disconnect it, go back to your site, and try saving the key again…

May not help, but there are unfortunately no other moves at this time that I can think of. 🙁

I’m sorry about that John. Your patience here has been greatly appreciated it.
