    Wow, I’m so sorry about that. I am escalating this ticket for more testing. Until then, you can continue using the plugins without activation. It does mean we can’t see your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ without you manually copy/pasting it, and new updates must be manually performed. However, the plugin and it’s features will continue working as they are when you last installed the plugin.

    I’ll keep you posted on our testing.

    I’ve checked in to this further. Can you help us troubleshoot this a bit more?

    1. Who is your webhost?

    2. Install https://wordpress.org/plugins/log-http-requests/. Once installed and activated go to Settings > Log HTTP Requests. To be sure click on the ‘Clear log’ button.

    In another tab open Events > Settings > Licenses tab.
    Clear the license field for Pro, tab / click away from the field, go back and fill in the license key, then tab / click away again so the validation starts.

    After the success message appears go to the other browser tab with the Log HTTP requests and click the refresh button. At least one entry should appear.

    Could you please let us know if you are still having problems to activate your license key? Are you still getting this specific error while trying to activate it?

    “Sorry, key validation server is not available”

    Our development team is trying to reproduce the error, but we didn’t identify any pattern yet. Any information you can give us is greatly appreciated!

    All of the features and functions of the calendar available to us even if the license problem isn’t fixed? I’m trying to figure out the slug category so that the events will show up in different cateogries.

    Hi Rebecca,

    I’m sorry to hear you are still having problems to activate your license key, could you please send us a copy of your site files and database (by sharing a google drive/dropbox or similar link) so we can run some tests from here? We want to identify if this is an error caused by an environment/server limitation or something else.

    The most common way to access and export your database is by using a tool called phpMyAdmin. Please follow the steps mentioned here to successfully export it.

    Regarding the issue with the slug category, could you please open a new thread? Our team will be happy to help and answer any other questions you may have! In this thread, we want to focus on solving the issue with your license key activation.

    Patricia: The instructions are from WPEngine host. Our host is iPage. Iโ€™m not a developer so am not qualified to do this. There has got to be an easier way. Can we cancel the account, get a refund, and then buy a new plugin โ€” basically start over?
