I just installed both The Event Calendar and Event Calendar Pro plugins to my site. I am wanting to use the Map view but for some reason cannot get it to display. I keep getting 404 errors. On List view, everything displays as it should. Any idea what else I can try to resolve this?
Thank You,

Thanks for Purchasing Pro and sorry for the issues here I can help out.
As a first step can you run through our 404 Error Guide and see if that resolves the issue.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
Let me know how that works out and we can go from here.
Thanks

I was able to go through your 404 error guide yesterday. None of the suggested fixes seemed to resolve my issue with the Map view.
Any other suggestions?
thanks,

Thanks for running through those steps. If that did not work please follow our testing for conflicts guide and see if that narrows down the cause of this:

Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

I have already gone through the conflict testing on your website. None of the suggested test seemed to work for me. I am still getting the “undefined” message in the page title. So not really sure what to do at this point. The event calendar works good in the list view, but breaks down in the Map view.

Thanks for the information.
Do you have a link to the Map view you can provide in a private reply so I can take a look?
Thanks

July 7, 2015 at 7:57 am #984454BrianKeymasterDoes you event have a venue? If it does not have a venue with an address the map view does not work as that is required.
Also, I am getting 404 errors on the single events. Please resave your permalinks and see if that helps.
Let me know if that helps make some progress on this.
Thanks
July 7, 2015 at 8:19 am #984460JosiahParticipantHi Brian,
The one event that I had didn’t have a venue. I was able to add the venue with correct address for testing. I also re-saved the permalinks. The /events page is still not working. Still getting a 404 error.
Any other thoughts?
July 7, 2015 at 8:49 am #984470BrianKeymasterHi,
When I go to the dropdown list of Event Views Map view is not active.
Can you confirm Pro is an active plugin and also this setting has Map view checked:
Events > Settings > Display Tab > Enable event views
Please let me know what you find out.
Thanks
July 7, 2015 at 11:37 am #984537JosiahParticipantHa! Silly me! I thought that the “choose the default view” was where you “activated” the map view. I guess I just wasn’t ready carefully. Everything seems to be working just fine now.
I did have another question for you now that I have the plugin working. Is there a way that I can automate adding new events. Obviously, adding events is fine if you are just doing a few events, but we are planning on doing a few thousand events. We need a way to pass information from a Gravity Form to the event calendar. That way we are not manually adding / uploading events and it would be automated.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank You!
July 7, 2015 at 2:54 pm #984580BrianKeymasterOk great, glad it is working now.
We do not have any features to automated importing events as you describe.
These are some of the options I can think of:
1) You could use gravity forms and then export the entries and then use the csv importer to get the information into the Events Calendar.
2) You can use Gravity Forms and an add on plugin for it to create custom post types and from the form directly create events.
3) If you are collecting events from people you could also use the Community Events plugin to use a front end form.
Cheers
