Just Bought Events Pro Need Help Getting Started

I am wondering if there is any guides or simple steps to take to customize and do some features that I thought would be easier to find out. How do I create an ability to have people register for certain events? How can I customize the events calendar main page? How can I customize the events calendar widget?? Am I missing a place with help or did I buy the wrong tool?? Please help
