Hi,
in the latest version of the Events Calendar there are some issues with the translation:
1. The following texts are not translated, even the text is translated in the appropriate .po/.mo-file:
Theme Customizer
“Calendar Table Color” & “Calendar Hightlight Color”
https://www.dropbox.com/s/s0r24tb98eyms35/Screenshot%202015-12-06%2013.13.15.png?dl=0
“Photo Background Color”
https://www.dropbox.com/s/acv2ncyqra5eu3i/Screenshot%202015-12-06%2013.13.00.png?dl=0Events list
“Previous” & “Next”
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e9gorvdzbs39fb5/Screenshot%202015-12-06%2013.42.02.png?dl=0
“All”
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t5woc7b5std12nm/Screenshot%202015-12-06%2013.46.33.png?dl=02. The issue with the lower case of “Veranstaltungen” still exists:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/veranstaltung-event-displayed-in-lower-case/While the issues in the Theme Customizer aren’t a problem, the issues in the events list should be fixed soon.
Best regards,
OliverDecember 6, 2015 at 9:16 am #1036461Hans-GerdParticipantHello,
same problem with “previous day” and “next day” – no translation in day view.
Sincerely
Hans-GerdDecember 7, 2015 at 2:44 pm #1037185NicoMemberHi Oliver and Hans,
Thanks for both for bringing this to our attention! From what I could see on the WP.org translation site there are a bunch of translations waiting for approval. I found various of the strings you mentioned above.
I’ll follow up with the procedure for becoming “Translation Editor” and be able to approve those strings. I see there’s no guide in place for that, so I’ll try to put something together covering the process.
Regarding the ‘case’ issue, it is logged and still being discussed (seem it’s a rather complex issue). Unfortunately I have no timeline for when it will be addressed.
Thanks for the report once again,
Best,

thanks for reply.Best regards
Hans-GerdDecember 8, 2015 at 10:19 am #1037746OliverParticipantHi Nico,
thanks for the info!
I tried to become a “Translation Editor”, but couldn’t find out how. On the website they say something like “contact one of the team members”, but there was no way to send them a message.
If you find out how it works let me know! I can do the job for the German translation (like I did before the system was changed 😉
Best regards,
OliverDecember 8, 2015 at 11:17 am #1037771Hans-GerdParticipantHallo Oliver,
ich antworte mal auf deutsch: Ich habe das heute mal getestet und mich mit meinem Account auf der Seite angemeldet.
Den Satz “What wird der Kartenverkauf stattfinden?” habe ich in “Wann wird der Kartenverkauf stattfinden?” geändert und das System meldet mir bei Klick auf “All translations of this original” unter “Details”, dass ich (hage) die Übersetzung angegeben habe: Status: waiting, Date added: 2015-12-08 19:15:27 GMT, Translated by: hageViele Grüße
Hans-GerdDecember 8, 2015 at 2:01 pm #1037837OliverParticipant@Nico:sorry for talking German – I’m just explaining the translation approval process 😉
Hallo Hans,
für die “Kaufplugins” kann ich die deutschen Übersetzungen, welche unter translate.theeventscalendar.com eingereicht werden, freigeben. Für das kostenfreie Plugin “The Events Calendar” auf wordpress.org habe ich (noch) keine Rechte, bin aber dran.
Viele Grüße,
OliverPS: ich bin auch nur Nutzer des Plugins, gehöre also nicht zum offiziellen Support Team 😉

December 8, 2015 at 6:01 pm #1037904NicoMemberHi Folks,
Thanks for collaborating around this, it’s much appreciated on our side 🙂
As you say the process seems a bit tricky in some way. From what I could dig in the fastest way seems to be contacting the Deutsch Translation Team over Slack (https://de.wordpress.org/). I could find more help about joining WP Make in Slack (https://make.wordpress.org/chat/). I’m trying to become translator editor for Spanish so I can figure out some more details on this and probably write an article about this.
We know we are a bit Lost in translation but let’s try to turn over this situation with a bit more information for our translator users.
Please let me know if you manage to be approved to be a Translator Editor,
Thanks,
NicoDecember 8, 2015 at 8:44 pm #1037962Hans-GerdParticipantHallo Nico,
thanks for explaining the process and sorry for talking to Olver in geman (it’s much easier for me 🙂
Best regards
Hans-GerdDecember 8, 2015 at 8:59 pm #1037974Hans-GerdParticipantHallo Oliver,
danke für den Hinweis auf die facebook-Gruppe (ich hatte mich gestern schon angemeldet).
Danke auch bezüglich der Übersetzungen, ich bin da ebenfalls bereits registriert und habe bei den vorherigen Versionen ein paar Übersetzungen beigesteuert.
Viele Grüße
Hans-GerdDecember 9, 2015 at 12:47 pm #1038440NicoMemberFolks,
We are trying to bulk propose all of our language validators to become Translator Editors. Mostly sure Leah will be contacting you Oliver, but if both want to leave your WordPress.org usernames in a private reply I can propose you to validate strings in German for the The Events Calendar and Event Tickets on .org.
Thanks a lot,
NicoDecember 10, 2015 at 1:10 pm #1039114OliverParticipantThis reply is private.
December 11, 2015 at 7:08 am #1039623NicoMemberHey Oliver,
Thanks for sending that over, we will surely take some days to gather other validator data to bulk propose you all in the same request.
Do you think I can close this ticket for now? Hans do you want to join as language validator on WP.org for the German translations, if you want to send me over your WP.org username in a private reply. if you are not up to it there’s no problem!
Have a great weekend,
