Hi there. We are an organization that puts on 2 back-to-back events, once a year, and are curious if your service can do what we need. What we are looking for is a registration system with multiple ticket options, with at least 5 sliding scale options for each ticket (registrants choose what they pay). It would be great to have a spreadsheet of registrants that is user-friendly, and we can have at the gate: we usually use excel and google docs, but are open. We’d like to be able to edit ticket information, for example if we need to transfer a ticket to another person.

Other features that would make a difference for us: a ticket cap, paypal / credit card / offline-by-check payment options, and a service that won’t crash if 1000 people are looking at it at the same moment.

Which of your versions would we need to buy, and how much does it cost?

It would be very helpful to know how intensive it will be to install this plug-in on our WordPress website, and if any extra code will be needed. We are on a deadline, and our web guy is only mildly available. : )

We are ready to buy the right option asap!

    Thanks much!

    Hi there Russell,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and for your interest in our products 🙂

I’ll breakdown your description and comment on each item:

What we are looking for is a registration system with multiple ticket options, with at least 5 sliding scale options for each ticket (registrants choose what they pay).

With Event Tickets Plus you can create different ticket types with different princes for your event. The price for the tickets is fixed and the sliders functionality you mention is not an option of our plugins.

It would be great to have a spreadsheet of registrants that is user-friendly, and we can have at the gate: we usually use excel and google docs, but are open.

You can see your event attendees in the site backend and also export a CSV file with all info displayed. More information on this → Tickets: Managing Your Orders and Attendees

We’d like to be able to edit ticket information, for example if we need to transfer a ticket to another person.

Event Tickets Plus works with an e-commerce plugin (WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, WP-Ecommerce or Shopp) and the tickets are actually products from the e-commerce engine. When a user purchase a ‘ticket’ the related information gets stored in the e-commerce order. If that’s change then the ticket will reflect these changes.

Other features that would make a difference for us: a ticket cap, paypal / credit card / offline-by-check payment options,

Not sure what you mean by ticket cap, Can you clarify a bit? Regarding the other points, you should check the options available in the e-commerce platform you’ll be using.

a service that won’t crash if 1000 people are looking at it at the same moment.

The Events Calendar and add-ons are built to scale! We have many customers running pretty large sites with our products. AS you probably know, there must be a good site configuration, a cache layer and a good server infrastructure to manage that demand.

Which of your versions would we need to buy, and how much does it cost? It would be very helpful to know how intensive it will be to install this plug-in on our WordPress website, and if any extra code will be needed.

From what you describe you’ll need to get Event Tickets Plus ($89). Events Calendar PRO comes packed with some extra views and functionality you might be interested in as well ($89), thou not needed to sell tickets or manage attendees. Installing the plugins is super easy and there’s not much configuration to do. If it fits your needs out of the box then you’ll be set in minutes. On the other hand if you decide to customize it then the time and effort will grow according to the complexity of the customization you want to achieve.

Finally let me say that with most plugins and themes, the best way to know if it works for you is to actually test it out. While we don’t have a trial period, you can go ahead and purchase the products for testing. If you decide they are not what you are looking for, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. For more information take a look at our refund policy.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with,
    Best,
    Nico

    Thanks, Nico. Very helpful.

We rely on a sliding-scale option; do you have any way to tailor that in?
Like 5 choices for a price of one ticket that a registrant can choose
from? It doesn\’t seem like that is on the radar of any event plug-ins, but
i know several organizations that like to offer that option. Any ideas?

By a ticket cap, we mean that we can automatically close the registration
when the tickets reach a certain number.

    thanks, rusty

    Thanks for following up Rusty!

I guess this might be custom coded, but the complexity of this custom feature should be evaluated by the person building it. I wouldn’t expect this one to be an easy customization. You can reach out to the customizers in this list for a quote on this → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

Thanks for clarifying. Sure this is possible, you can define stock levels per ticket or per event (global stock). You can also set sale start/end dates, this can be useful for early bird tickets or limited offers.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with,

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
