ParticipantHello,
We have a testing/development site that is offline (not internet access).
The Events Calendar works fine. However, when activating the pro extension the whole site crashes. There is no error in apache error_log and every page in wordpress isn’t loading.
Does PRO require an internet connection to be activated?
We are using wordpress 4.4.2 and events calendar 4.1.2.
Thank you.

ParticipantAlso, please note that during the first ‘activation’ of PRO we had a memory error (php.ini memory was 128, so we bumped it up to 256).
Could the error during the first activation set some flags in the DB that is crashing the installation? Is there a way to reset any PRO flags being written to the db?

MemberGood evening Ken and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the Events Calendar Pro crashing your test site.
I would love to help you with this topic. The short answer is that the Pro add-on requires an Internet connection only to validate the license (which you don’t actually need on a staging site unless you are looking to be able to update the plugin).
I do not believe the error during the first activation is related to what you are experiencing.
However, Pro is using some complex redirects and sometimes does not work great on certain staging environments (depending on how they are setup: memory, .htaccess file, etc..)
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information for that staging environement in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)
It could also be that there is a conflict with another plugin or with your WordPress theme at play.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Ken,
Thank you for the system information.
There are a couple of things I am noticing which might be at play. This might take a bit of back and forth to figure out so I appreciate your patience while we go through this:
- The lowest version of PHP we support is 5.2.x , if possible, I would recommend updating it to 5.3.x + (not necessary to go much higher than that). The reason for that suggestion is because there are some subversions of 5.2.x that contain some known bugs
- There is no domain name attached to your staging site (which I understand, but the plugin might not). Most people tend to prefer an IP based type of URL for that purpose.
- As mentioned before there might be a conflict at play. Could you go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out. Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation (deactivate all non-related plugins and switch back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-fifteen) to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I started with disabling all plugins and reverting to the twenty sixteen theme.
It’s still not working, however it did display a php error this time:
Fatal error: Call to private Tribe__Events__Pro__Customizer__Section::__construct() from context ‘Tribe__Events__Pro__Customizer__Section’ in /srv/www/htdocs/mb-liquor-lotteries/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Customizer/Section.php on line 116
