ParticipantWe have the events calendar on this page http://www.bethisraelvan.ca/events/. We have multiple recurring events running, however for specific events they show up 6-8 time even though the calendar they are being imported from (using the aggregator) only show them as once, but they import multiple times to the one day.
I’ve read other threads but there hasn’t really been a solution.
Can you please advise.

KeymasterHi Esther,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
This isn’t currently a confirmed issue so I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Whenever troubleshooting, it’s best to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
If there’s nothing obvious (such as a console error or WP_DEBUG message) pointing you to what might be the problem, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Note that https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-detective/ may prove helpful as well. (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us)
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups as well as performing modifications first on a staging site before modifying anything on your live/production site.
If you still need assistance with this, please share (or re-share) your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply.
In addition, can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?
Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?<span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span>
Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?
That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Esther,
Thanks for providing me with that information.
At what point are you seeing imported events duplicated? (ie upon first import, or subsequent scheduled imports?
I tried importing the URL that you provided and re-imported it, and did not see events duplicated.
Can you try changing your Event Update Authority to Overwrite my events… and see if the same still occurs?
In addition, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Note that https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-detective/ may prove helpful as well. (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us)
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHi Jaime,
It happens upon subsequent imports. I also updated the event update authority to “overwrite my events..” and nothing changed.
I also switched to the twenty seventeen version and shut off plugins but the duplication issue still occurred.
thanks,

KeymasterHi Esther,
Thanks for running through that testing.
I tried to replicate the behavior that you’re describing, and importing (and re-importing) the URL that you provided worked as expected and did not duplicate.
Can you try going to a bare WordPress install (no other plugins installed and default WordPress theme), delete and clear out the import, and then re-enter the import and see if it duplicates then?
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime
