Hi Geoff, sorry to have to start this thread all over again. But I downloaded and installed the ical importer 3112 you alerted me to. Unfortunately when I select ical url and click on SEARCH nothing happens. not even an error message. I guess that’s progress.

I’m not Geoff, though since my name is George I’ve at least got a few letters in common with him 🙂 Hopefully I can be even half as good a support agent as him.
Just to be clear, when you mention an old thread with Geoff, do you mean this one? → https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-to-get-the-right-format-url-for-events-at-ical-and-google/
For now, can you share your system information with us? Here’s how to do so → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

In your first post on this thread, you mention this as a summary of your issues:
Unfortunately when I select ical url and click on SEARCH nothing happens. not even an error message.
Can you share a link to a version of your iCal file that we can download, or the iCal URL if it is publicly accessible? I will try replicating the issue you face.
If the file is private or has event information you do not want the public to be able to access, you can upload the file to a site like http://ge.tt and then share the link to the file download in a “Private reply” here on the forums; this will make it so that only you and us on the support team can see the download link.
Thank you!

October 17, 2015 at 5:43 am #1015543GeorgeParticipantHey Bill,
If you remove the “webcal://” from that URL inside the “iCal Importer” plugin page, do things behave any better? That URL works well for me if I do so.

import type one-time
for source
I entered
http://www.meetup.com/Concord-Tech-Tuesdays/events/ical/
and tried
http://www.meetup.com/Concord-Tech-Tuesdays/events/ical/
I click on SEARCH and nothing happens
October 24, 2015 at 7:23 am #1017595GeorgeParticipantBoth URLs work for me, as long as no webcal:// prefix is within them…
The only thing I can think of here would be to do the troubleshooting steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
Now, after each step along the way, try importing again and see if anything improves.
This process will confirm or rule out whether or not there’s a theme/plugin code conflict here.
