Ticket wholesaler
GuestI have talked with Vendini regarding offering ticketing services to anyone that want to post an event on WhatsHappeningToday.com and me charge a small services fee. In speaking with a well known Performer who uses Brown Paper Tickets… he said the service fee pricing would be substantially higher than BrownPaperTickets.com.
Do you have a solution that would work on WhatsHappeningToday.com?
Kind regards,

ParticipantHey!
Thanks for reaching out to us here!
You can allow vendors to sell tickets via your site using our plugins. Take a look at our Community Managers bundle and the plugins there.
The key parts for what you’re looking for would be:
- Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus plugins to allow the creation of Tickets and the ability to sell those tickets via an eCommerce plugin such as WooCommerce
- the Community Events plugin to allow visitors (or members) to create events on your site
- Finally, you could use the Community Tickets plugin to allow the submitted events to add their own tickets to their events.
All of those plugins can be found in the Community Managers bundle linked above.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

GuestHello. Thank you for your reply.
I have and existing Events plugin that I use with Geodirectory (http://WhatsHappeningToday.com)
Everyone can post events for free.
Those posting events will need a way to sell tickets to their events. I wish to allow them to do this on our site…. and charge a service fee.
It would be nice if I could “insert” a link in the Geodirectory Event Post that would allow “ticket purchasers” the ability to click and purchase.
The Event Poster would have to duplicate the event post to Community Tickets apparently unless we can get a duplicate post to work with the event posting.
Sounds like come customization may be necessary to get the link from the Geodirectory event post to link to the tickets.
Does this sound like it May be possible?
Kind regards,
Wolfie.

ParticipantHey Wolfie,
You can try with our free Event Tickets plugin listed above since you are able to add those to any post type (and I’d imagine that the other plugin would be adding events via a custom post type?).
You would need to do some customization to allow for a front-end creation of the tickets and link to the way the other event plugin manages that process. However, a customization like that would be something that we wouldn’t be able to provide support for here.
If you’re able to get the two integrated, the only additional plugin you would need would be the Event Ticket Plus plugin to allow the tickets to be sold.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
July 30, 2016 at 7:02 pm #1145884The flow process… which direction
GuestIf we begin the event posting process from the gd_event form process and have it broadcast to events tickets would this be better than if we started the event posting process from event ticket then broadcast to gd_events? Thoughts on break points or bottle necks. Kind regards,
Also, I am looking at a broadcast plugin that is referring to event tickets in some areas and “EvenOn” in other areas. Are the two, “EventOn and Event Tickets” related?

ParticipantHello Josh. How are you? I have purchased the package for one site. “The one site is the main site that is set up for a multi-site. I am getting mixed messages between the TEC event licensing page and the plugin page. It appears from the plugin page I am ok unless I use it over 11 sub-sites. Is this correct?
Next, this may be a show stopper and refund request. It appears that the GD plugin for events and the TEC plugin share a common slug name. “Events”
Is there a way to change a slug name for TEC? I have contacted the Customization team to see if I can get a price on integration.
Kind regards,

ParticipantHey Steve,
Thanks for following up here!
As long as you’re using the plugin on one site within your multisite network, you should have no problem using the single license within the network. You’ll have no loss in functionality there.
You can modify the slug that is used for the events section of your website within the Events > Settings > General. There are two options there for setting the Events page as well as the single event slugs. Here is an example of those settings changed to have “upcoming-events” used instead of just “events” https://cloudup.com/clVH7g5Jv2d
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

GuestTwo more questions. I think I may need to upgrade the license to do this but first back to changing the slug.
May I change the slugs in this way?
Events URL slug “ec-upcoming-events”
Single event URL slug “ec-event”
It appears this is acceptable. Now for part two.
I am also developing another site sub-domain. AmadorDarts.WhatsHappeningToday.com. I am experimenting with this site because I was “volunteered” to become the leagues statistician. Will I have to upgrade to a multi-license at this time since I will be using the main site http://WhatsHappeningToday.com to try to go live on selling Community tickets and experimenting on the Dart league.
Thank you for your assistance.

ParticipantHey Steve,
You should be perfectly fine using those slugs in the event settings there.
Also, you would be fine using the plugin on the main site and then a test site within the multisite network. The license limitation will not impact the performance or any features of the plugin.
Thanks!
