I read your description and have made sure to mark “Going” to all of the events I wished to import. But for some reason, Aggregator will only import events that I personally did not create. Mine don’t ever show a preview. This does not mesh with the update you posted today about Facebook changes.

    Hi Linda,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are here and here.

Also, can you provide me with some URLs, and I will test them out on my end to see if I get the same results?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,

So one of the links says “Facebook Unavailable”. The other link says “must
use the same account to create the links as the account that is importing
them”. The second case is true of three of my events that won’t import. I
created the events and refreshed the connection using the same account. They
all say “no preview available” and even an individual import won’t work.

Here are the events I am trying to import:

Please take a look and let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks,

FYI – I even tried exporting the facebook events to an ics format and
importing and that fails too on some of them. It says “no preview
available”. Only one imported. Not sure why.

I’m experiencing the same problem and posted a support ticket on the 19th and then again at midday on the 22nd and have had no support. Is there a reason that some tickets are responded to and other aren’t? I’m reporting exactly the same issue as Asha/Linda including the ics export and have had no reply. If you sort out this issue I’m assuming the same solution will work for me? Perhaps someone could respond?

    Hi Asha,

I’m sorry to hear that you are still experiencing this issue.  It seems that this issue with Facebook is working inconsistently with different users.  However, we did have some users who reported success with exporting to an ICS or iCal format and then were able to import their events.

Would you mind including the ICS file you are trying to import so that I can do some testing on my end as well?

Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

FYI – Wanted to share that there is a work-around to the Facebook import being broken.
    1) Mark yourself as attending all the facebook events you need to import into a website.
    2) Open a facebook event you are attending and click “export event” from the MORE menu.
    3) Copy the link to your facebook web ical calendar.
    4) In TEC Aggregator, create a one-time (or a scheduled) ical event and use the facebook web ical calendar URL.

It works just as well as before the Facebook policy changes (except that the photos still don’t cross properly).
