I’m having a problem with the event import function within the aggregator. When I change an event in google calendar (for example changing the event description) it does not get pulled through into the calendar. I’ve tried doing a manual import, but the description does not change even though it has been changed in google calendar.

I’ve had a similar issue if I change the event time within google calendar and then try a manual import.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Matthew

I am having the same issue. There are events in Google Calendar that have been deleted or have had their dates change that are not getting updated on import in WordPress.

This happens with scheduled and manual imports.

    Hi Matthew & Kevin!

Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me help you with this issue.

Could you please make sure you have the right Event Update authority settings for your imports > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/#update-authority

If you still experience this issue with a specific setting, please let me know the setting you are having the issue with. Also, please share a link to the gCal you are importing.

Kevin, thanks for chiming in here! You are more than welcome to follow along with this thread and make the same tests, but I will kindly ask you to open a new thread as we could be dealing with a different issue. This will also allow us to keep things separately and make sure we give the proper attention to each of your site’s settings and test results.

When opening a new topic you can link to this thread as reference and please make sure you share your system info with us > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thanks,
    Victor

    Hi Victor,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve checked the setting for the Event authority and I have it set for “Overwrite my event with any changes from the original source.”

I choose another option, saved it and then choose this option again and saved it to make sure it had been registered.

I altered an event just now, ran the importer manually, but it still did not work.

    The ical feed is: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/leedsrbc%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

The specific issue I’m experiencing it how the plugin handles altered events either in terms of the event description, the title of the event or the event times. If I change an event that is already created it does not pick up the change on an import.

I adjusted an event at 6 pm today (29/12/17) to include the text “@ Emmanuel” within google calendar, but the change was not picked up by an import to our page here:

    Evening Service

I’m happy to share admin credentials for the wp-admin area by PM if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Matthew

    Hi Matthew,

Thanks for testing that out and for sending over all the information.

First, let me note that we unfortunately cannot accept login credentials as we state in our terms > https://theeventscalendar.com/terms/

I made a few tests with the gCal you shared, using the same settings as your site. After importing I changed one of the event’s title, then re-imported and it did change the title back to the original.

I also made some tests with my own gCal modifying events from the source and they did overwrite the imported events.

Could you please update to the latest version of The Events Calendar 4.6.2 and see if any changes?

If you still experience the issue, This could relate to a theme or plugin conflict, so to narrow the problem down please go through the steps provided in the testing for conflicts guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ and let us know what you find in the process.

    Thanks,
    Victor

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
