GuestHi,
I see a lot of questions, but still can’t find the perfect answer. I want to set up PRO on my site as I work with Beaver Themer and can make the pages look sweet with this plugin. My issue is that the school really wants to have the ability to have a google calendar so they can tie to their mobile calendars. I want this to happen without them needing to download the file each time. In other words, if I create an event, or maybe change the time or date of an event, I want it to automatically update my Google Calendar. Is there a way around this? It looks like Time.ly has two way sync, which I think would solve this, but I like your options better. Please tell me there is a way that is simple! I can’t risk it not updating our Google Calendar that people already have on their phones. Most of the questions I see are about importing from Google, but I need the sync to google from a created event.
Thanks for the help.

KeymasterHi Garrett,
Thanks for reaching out and giving such a detailed explanation!
The Events Calendar / PRO or Event Aggregator does not have a direct “sync” option with google
calendar. It is possible to import events from it, but there is no export / push option.
What you can try though is, each calendar page provides an ‘Export’ link. Copy the url of that link (right click > copy link location) and in your google calendar add it as a new calendar. The events then should show up.
I guess then the calendars on the mobile phone or the settings there will need to be updated too, to show the new calendar, but I’m not sure, I haven’t tested this part.
I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Just remembered, we do have a free extension that might also work for you, which allows setting a custom date range for the export.
Cheers,

ParticipantHi,
I have the same problem.
Did you know if it is possible to export just one category with the advanced ical export extension ?Regards,

MemberIf you’re comfortable working with code (or have access to a developer who is at home with The Events Calendar and WordPress), I imagine you could use that extension as a starting point and tweak it to achieve that effect, yes 🙂

GuestI am piggybacking off of the same question, just in the reverse scenario. While there is no direct sync from Event Calendar to Google Calendar, can you confirm that there is in fact a sync (or scheduled automated import) from Google Calendar to Event Calendar using the paid Event Aggregator extension?
Is there another option to reach this goal without the paid extension? This is for a small church, which will only be importing a single, low usage Google Calendar, but I need to know this will work before spending the $89, as the tech budget is virtually non-existent. I don’t think it matters, but we are built on Avada.
Thanks!

MemberHi Dustin,
Yes: Event Aggregator facilitates ongoing imports from Google Calendar — the following resources will give you a pretty good overview:
- theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-aggregator
- theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/import-from-feed-or-url
Is there another option to reach this goal without the paid extension?
We do have a non-profit program, but I’m afraid that Event Aggregator is not a part of it and that is currently our only supported means of importing from Google Calendar.
I hope that answers your questions, but let me know if I can clarify anything 🙂
