ParticipantI changed the time-frame on the repeating events both past and future; what is the best way to expedite the “clean-up” of past and reoccurring events to match what my current settings are?

MemberGood evening Vince,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I will be glad to help you figure out the best way to expedite the clean-up.
But before I do, I want to make sure I understand what you did and what you are trying to do exactly. When you say you changed the time frame, could you give me a bit more details ?
Did you change the timezone or the start and end timeĀ of the events ?
I am looking forward to hear back from you.
Have a wonderful day!

ParticipantChanged “Clean up recurring events after” from 24 months to 1 month and changed “Create recurring events in advance for” from 24 to 3 months. But there are still over 6,000 events?

MemberGood afternoon Vince,
Thank you for clarifying the changes you made.
I am unsure of how many events there were prior to changing these settings.
Can you give me a ballpark figure of what the original number of events was ?On a side note, the Clean up tool will get rid of Child events but will not delete the Parent event. Perhaps this is what is causing the numbers to not be as small as expected.
If there were no changes in numbers at all, I would be very interested to troubleshoot this with you.
As a starting point, can you please provide me with your System information in a private reply ?Have a great evening!

MemberGood evening Vince,
Thank you for the info.
I ran some tests andĀ searched our archives thoroughly.
Normally everything should work properly. This leads me to believe that somehow your wp cron is not running.
Usually, this means it’s either disabled completely in one of your settings OR it could be caused by one of your plugins interfering.
- This means that the next step will be to troubleshoot as to why that’s the case on your server.
- I would give our testing for conflicts guide a try, starting with removing the caching plugin (the likeliest culprit)
- Other than that, you might want to look at your wp-config.php file to see if wp cron is not disabled there
- Finally, if all else fails, I recommend going through the following guide on how to debug wp cron
Let me know what your findings are.
Have a great night,
Geoff B.
