ParticipantMy events page will not display events. Cannot even see them on backend. This is after updating to 3.11 vs of Events Calendar Pro and Filter Bar. Filter Bar had no valid key, so I put in the one from the original purchase. Vs. is 3.9 and it doesn’t show updates available. Just message saying Filter Bar needs updating. ๐ What do I do? The calendar IS my site. That’s the whole point of the site. I’m gonna lose people if I don’t fix it fast.

ParticipantHey Ann,
I’m sorry things haven’t been working as of late โย if the version of Filter Bar is out-of-sync with the version of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, then that could definitely be at play here.
If you’re not getting update notices in the admin for Filter Bar, then unfortuantely the best option here is to manually delete the existing version of Filter Bar off of your site. Then, head to http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads and download the latest version of Filter Bar from there.
Manually install this downloaded version of Filter Bar onto your site, activate it, and try entering the license anew.
If this doesn’t help, then let us know what version of The Events Calendar itself is active on your site (the free version of the plugin, from http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar) โย all three plugins should be up-to-date as a starting point for troubleshooting here. Once we can be certain of this, we can continue troubleshooting things from there.
Thank you!

ParticipantGeorge,
I moved this to a more logical thread. Didn’t realize I was in the purchase questions area. I have since been able to update to Filter Bar 3.11 to match Calendar Pro, but the calendar page still won’t load. I can, however, get into the events on the backend now. Here’s my system info:

ParticipantWill upgrading to the business version get me same-day support for issues with Calendar Pro and Filter bar? These are the meat of my site. I depend on them working to stay in business. I don’t mind paying $50 if I can have issues resolved same day. I’m pretty overwhelmed. Then maybe I could find out how to make the filter bar have more logical amounts in the cost category. I mean really. $2-$8 isn’t helpful at all. Thanks for any help you can provide.

ParticipantHey Ann,
I’m sorry that you’re feeling overwhelmed here, these issues can be caused by many different things so I agree that it is a bit of a pain at first to troubleshoot these problems but there are unfortunately not many alternative routes of trying to fix the problems ๐
And unfortunately, no, upgrading licenses does not upgrade response time or something โย it just gets you support and updates for more web sites.
I’m glad you can access the events on the back-end at least, that’s a start in the right direction. If things work there but not on the front-end, however, it’s very likely that there is a theme or plugin conflict, which means the best steps to go through are the ones outlined here โ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
These may seem tedious but are actually much faster to work through than it might seem. And these steps are incredibly helpful for troubleshooting issues like this.
Let us know if you can run through these problems and, if so, what you find.
Thank you for your patience here,

GuestGeorge,
The short answer is “I already did that.”I didn’t find a way to move this thread to “filter bar”. I started another there. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/calendar-events-wont-display-after-filter-bar-didnt-update/#post-996383 (Calendar events won’t display after filter bar didn’t update)
The result is that I’m having to answer questions in two places, slowing the process down. Can they be merged?
Here’s what’s been happening on the filter bar thread…Ann:
So, I checked for conflicts by deactivating all other plugins, changing to twenty thirteen theme and dumping cache. Events page still has a temporarily unavailable error. Says it cannot serve that request.
I need my calendar back. The calendar is the whole point of the site and the basis of the organization.Josh: Thanks for reaching out to us! This appears to be a performance issue on the site. A couple of notes:
1. Do you currently have any caching set up on the site to help reduce the constant load on the server?
2. We do have a new built-in caching for the calendar available within the Events Calendar settings under the โDisplayโ tab (https://cloudup.com/cLG1GhRTP1p). Have you tried turning on that setting?
3. Out of curiosity, does the calendar work if you have the filter bar disabled?
Let me know if this helps.
Ann:
Josh,
I have had WP Super Cache installed and activated. I just disabled the filter bar. No change. ๐August 18, 2015 at 8:44 am #997004George
ParticipantHey Ann,
Sorry about your having two separate threads, I was unaware of that! We didn’t intend to make that harder on you, sorry about the confusion.
Merging threads is unfortunately a bit tricky and not something I’ll attempt to do for this thread, especially because what Josh last recommended in that other thread is what I would recommend here, too โ https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/calendar-events-wont-display-after-filter-bar-didnt-update/#dl_post-996903
This recommendation of contacting your web host is based on your note here:
Events page still has a temporarily unavailable error. Says it cannot serve that request.
I’m sorry that if your organization is so dependent on the calendar that these issues are happening โ truly. Unfortunately, by the nature of the details you’ve shared with us, it sounds like there are other deeper problems on your site at the moment and it is not just our plugin failing to function.
I will close this thread and so we can just keep the conversation in that thread with Josh. Thank you for your patience with things thus far!
โ George
