ParticipantHello, Once a filter is set on our calendar, we are stuck in a waiting pattern. Never displays, have waited more than fifteen minutes with the circular icon you’d get on an apple iPhone and such.
Could you please advise.
Thank you.

ParticipantHi Fernando,
I’m sorry to hear about this! It sounds like a theme-related JavaScript issue. To help us investigate that, can you share a link to your events page and also share your “System Information” with us? Here’s how to share system information → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/.
Thank you!

ParticipantHi, Thanks for getting back to me. while it seems the problem is not 100% resolved, I am noticing that the page is at the very least finally sorting through the filters and displaying. However, I’d appreciate your investigation in case it leads to anything. Now that I look back over my previous question, I just want to make clear that when i said filter, I was referring to the event categories listed as filters on our events calendar page. things suchas ‘safety’ ‘arts & culture’ ‘civic center commons’ etc. Below is the info you requested.
Thanks, Fernando

ParticipantThank you for this information! I took a look at the issue in person and can see what you’re referring to; I investigated in-depth for JavaScript errors and could not find any, but what I did notice was the AJAX response for category filters is entirely blank.
This is why the “AJAX Loading” spinner image doesn’t go away, and why the filters don’t work….
Now, unfortunately this sort of behavior is usually the result of a theme or plugin conflict. I say “unfortunately” because the only to test for this is to run through the complete set of troubleshooting steps on this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
I would recommend starting with plugin testing, not your theme. After EACH STEP in that process, check back on your events page and try a category filter; does the issue persist? Does it ever suddenly start working along the way in the testing process? If so, when?
The process seems tedious, but fortunately it moves along much faster than it seems.
Let me know if you run through these steps and what you find if so!
Sincerely,
GeorgeFebruary 24, 2016 at 4:42 pm #1081782Fernando
Participantthanks for this, although i am not looking forward to the test. Yesterday, the filters were working, and today it seems to have the same issue. Just curious, does the fact that they worked seamlessly for at least several hours yesterday point you towards the source of the issue in any way?
Thanks,
Fernando

ParticipantHey Fernando,
Thank you for this information. The fact that things worked for a few hours is bizarre, and I’ve never heard of or seen an issue that shows up for a few hours and then disappears for a few.
That could hint at something related to your server, or to something tied to features of other software on your site that is itself integrated closely with the server.
I understand why you’re not exactly excited about all of the testing I recommend, and I’m genuinely sorry that that’s the best step I can recommend at this point! You might find it worthwhile to contact your web hosting provider’s support team before doing all of that testing—I doubt that they could find something related to this issue, and will probably just point you back to us (which is fine!), but they might notice something in the server logs that would be helpful here.
If you do this, let us know what they have to say about these issues—if anything. Otherwise, the on-and-off nature of this issue is bizarre and I would still recommend those troubleshooting steps above.
Thank you for your patience and persistence with this issue!
