ParticipantWhen I click the + Export Events button while looking at the month view, ECP generates an ICS file that has the wrong dates in it, i.e., they don’t correspond to the dates I’m looking at in the month view. Is this a bug, or something I’m doing wrong?
My events are at jazzoregon.com/events. I exported the month of February. See the resulting ICS file attached.

MemberGene, sorry you’re experiencing this high-priority known bug (which is specific to Month View, not List View).
I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.
I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

ParticipantThe way the list view works, in terms of the dates shown, makes no sense to me. It doesn’tt appear to be consistent. It would be nice if you could select a date range, or if it just showed the events for a month. Can you explain how it is supposed to work? How could I export an ICS file with a range of dates I would like to include?

MemberHere’s a demo of the List View: http://wpshindig.com/events/list/
The events are displayed in chronological event date order starting from today (i.e. the first event in the list is on Feb 8, not Feb 1)
If your site’s List View isn’t displaying in this same way, there could be a conflict with custom code, your theme, or one or more of your plugins…. Please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

I’ll preface the following by stating that I’m not certain if this works with our latest versions:
Regarding your question about iCal exporting, here’s an installable .zip file (install it at your Plugins screen) that adds two URLs:
- example.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=recently-published
- example.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=year
The first is useful when folks are trying to use the iCal importer to pull events from one website to another. It will contain any recently published or modified events. Note: It is subject to the postsperpage setting in WP-Admin > Events > Settings.
The second exports this year’s events (from January through December).
If preferable, there’s a code snippet to share just the events one year out from today. Let me know if this plugin works for you or if you want the code for exporting one year from today.

ParticipantPlease note the dates returned as different “Events from” dates are stepped
through a week. Seems erratic to me. This odd sequence repeats for each
week in a month. Not debilitating, but perhaps something that should be
fixed along with the monthly ICS export?February 9, 2017 at 11:26 am #1232276Cliff
MemberI’m sorry, Gene, but I’m unclear exactly what you’re describing. Could you please explain in greater detail, including any links, annotated screenshots, and/or video screen captures that might help communicate what you’re seeing and what exactly the issue is?
Thank you.

ParticipantAny idea when this will get fixed?
February 21, 2017 at 4:11 pm #1243394Cliff
MemberThe issue of “Month View iCal export being the same for all months and starts at events furthest in future” should be included in a fix later this week (if not, then next week). However, I cannot guarantee any specific date, but this is what I’m expecting for this bug fix.

ParticipantHello!
I wanted to post a quick note here that we have published a new Maintenance Release today that should address some of the problems reported in this thread with the plugins’ Month View ics exports.
You can read about the details of this release here → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-events-calendar-4-4-3-event-tickets-4-4-3-premium-add-ons/
I hope this update helps!
Cheers,
GeorgeFebruary 23, 2017 at 9:03 am #1244639Ben
ParticipantThanks George. Much better! Not a big deal, but I notice that, at least in
Feb. on my calendar, the export starts with the first day show on the
calendar (Jan. 30) and ends with the second to last day shown (Mar. 4).
Just a little unexpected, but maybe needs to work that way. Thanks againFebruary 23, 2017 at 1:31 pm #1244839Cliff
MemberGene, I’m glad it’s working much better for you.
I tried to replicate what your experience is, and I couldn’t.
If today is Feb 23 and there aren’t any upcoming events until Feb 25, my Month View’s “+Export Events” button creates an iCal file with events ranging from Feb 25, 2017 through Feb 22, 2018.
Please double-check if your findings are the same. If they’re not, then I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode). That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
