ParticipantHi,
I’m not sure what happened by my events calendar is having a significant issue. Usually the url https://www.fbcsudbury.org/events/ brings up the full events calendar but right now only part of an event is showing. Strangely on the homepage, the list of events shows, but the events calendar page is not working at all. Any thoughts? I thought this was tested in my staging environment before upgrading the plugin, so I’m not sure what happened.
Thanks for the help.

MemberHello, John!
Thank you for using The Events Calendar! I can help with this ?
Hrm, that is very odd indeed! You have quite a few errors on the calendar page itself (see the screenshot below)

The fact that you have duplicate Google Maps API keys should be addressed but the thing that sticks out to me here is the WordFence error.
I think it would be a good idea to go through the ‘Testing for Conflicts’ guide. You can find that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ This will either confirm a WordFence issue or point to something else.
If it is WordFence you can probably fix it by adjusting your settings within WordFence itself. You’d need to contact them for anything specific.
Let me know what you find out!
Cheers,

ParticipantHi,
I have reached out for unfortunately I just can’t get any answers from anyone. I just downgraded the plugin in my staging environment and I get the same issue. It doesn’t make any sense to me because it did work just a week or so ago and I haven’t had a theme update. Is there any de-bugging help you or another tech could help with? Just knowing where this conflict is being caused would be helpful to point me in a direction. Otherwise I’m just not sure what to do…

MemberHi Chelsea,
Thanks for taking the time to follow up once more–so sorry to hear that you’ve been unable to reach your theme’s developer for more information on this issue. Without having access to the complete code for the affected theme, I’m afraid that we would be unable to provide much more than suggestions even if the scope of our support services covered such in-depth debugging. 🙁 That said, since we do know that reverting to a standard WordPress theme resolves the issue, I’d guess that your theme likely employs some type of custom loop that, when combined with one or more of your activated plugins, interferes with the normal display and functionality of The Events Calendar on your site. If you’re comfortable with PHP and don’t mind delving into the core files for your plugin, you might consider reviewing the code that’s used for the loop and seeing if there are any issues with custom post types that might be triggering a conflict with your plugins.
Failing that, and assuming that you’re still unable to get in touch with your theme’s developer, you might consider looking into some development assistance to get things back up and running quickly with your preferred theme. We maintain a list of third-party developers here who work with our plugins, and any one of them would surely be more than happy to work with you on this project!

Of course, switching themes is also an option, if you’re open to it–most popular theme directories offer a wide selection of themes that guarantee compatibility with our plugins.
I hope one of these options will help to get you moving in the right direction again! Thanks so much for your patience here, and best of luck getting things working again on your site! 🙂

MemberGood evening John,
I am chiming in because I believe there is something worth trying out.
Could you try playing around with the Events Template settings under Events -> Settings -> Display ?
This has proven to solve many theme-related display issues in the past.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantGeoff,
Thank you!! I played around with the Settings and noticed that the default template page was set to “Default Page Template” and not “Default Events Template.” Once I changed that, everything now works fine.
Thanks!
