I have the Eventbrite plug-in. The tickets are now showing up on my events. I activated the plug in and connected it. The tickets were there when I imported the events. After a period of time, they disappear. If I reauthorize the Eventbrite API it will work for a short time and then they disappear again.

Good evening Project Helping and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the disappearing tickets.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

As a first step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ?

Could you also please send me the link to your Eventbrite events so that I can do some testing on my end ?

    Have a great day!

    Thanks for getting back, Geoff.

We are running WP 4.4.1. We just installed PRO and the Eventbrite plug in, so I assume they are the very latest versions.

Our Eventbrite event page is projecthelping.eventbrite.com.

Here is an example event: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/serve-breakfast-at-urban-peak-w-project-helping-registration-18171709071

Our website events page is: projecthelping.org/get-involved/

We imported every event using the Eventbrite import option. At first, the tickets were showing up, but after a short time, they would disappear. The events would get disconnected from Eventbrite as well. If I would reauthroize Eventbrite, it seemed to fix it for a short time and then it would happen again. At this point, the tickets won’t even show up after I reauthroize.

    Good afternoon Project Helping,

Thank you for your reply and for the information you provided.

I probably miscommunicated what I meant by system information. My apologies.
What I meant was the complete system information as explained in the following link: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Could you please send that information in a private reply ?

That being said, I believe you are on to something. There seems to be something fishy going on at the Eventbrite level.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by

The events would get disconnected from Eventbrite as well.

    Have a great day!

    System info below.

When we first create an event, the “register this event with Eventbrite” is checked yes automatically. After a short time, that box is now checked “no” and the ability to create tickets through eventbrite is gone. That happens at the same time that the tickets disappear from the event.

    Good afternoon Project Helping,

Thank you for providing the system information and answering my question.

When we first create an event, the “register this event with Eventbrite” is checked yes automatically. After a short time, that box is now checked “no”

That is indeed very odd and must be frustrating.

What is strange is that the “register this event with Eventbrite” checkbox should no longer display once you create the event. It should be replaced by “Leave this event associated with eventbrite.com?”.

Can you confirm that this is the case ?

If that isn’t the case, then it means that either:

    1. An organizer was not input during the Eventbrite ticket creation
    2. There is a permission issue between Eventbrite and your site

and the ability to create tickets through eventbrite is gone.

Based on this part, my assumption is that option 2 is probably the culprit.

Can you navigate to your WordPress backend and go to Events -> Settings -> Add-ons APIs and tell me what you see under the Eventbrite section ?

    Have a great day!

On the event it now says “Register this event with Eventbrite” and the “No” is checked.

On the API page, under “add on API’s” Eventbrite is listed.
The Auth URL is filled in, as is the Key and Secret.

    Good afternoon Project Helping,

Thank you for looking that up.
After your response I have searched thoroughly in our databases to find possible explanations for the type of issue you are experiencing.

First things first, the fact that you are getting “Register this event with Eventbrite” means that the event was somehow disconnected from Eventbrite.

    This usually happens when:

    • A WordPress template or plugin conflict. Which is why I would recommend you go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
    • There are multiple organizers for an event which is creating confusion for the API
    • You have hit the Eventbrite API limit (number of times your website tries to communicate with the Eventbrite server in an hour or a day)
    • A server hiccup / disconnect

In any case, unfortunately, once an event has been disconnected, it can’t be reconnected by just changing the checkbox. You’ll have to delete that event and recreate a new one. Otherwise, Eventbrite will reject that event.

Could you try the testing for conflicts as a starting point as well as recreating that faulty event ?

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
