ParticipantThe facebook events are importing over fine, however when the event is over and you check out previous events it is multiplying the event.

MemberHello billashton,
Sorry for the problems you are experiencing and thanks for reaching out to us! This is an interesting situation that has been with us for a while. If you check the forums, you’ll see many people with the same issue. It’s a difficult bug to recreate and we believe it depends on a quirk in Facebook’s API, but I see the problem on your site.

Could you more exactly describe you’re situation? From what it sounds like you are using the auto import feature. Does it only apply to events imported from Facebook, for instance, and do they show up in the Facebook Import screen as having been successfully imported already if so?
For now, you can try setting the auto import feature to “Daily” or “Weekly”. That might limit the amount of duplicates.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

ParticipantI am only using the auto import feature, it updates every hour.
I am testing if it happens with a manual event.
I will set the import feature to daily and see what happens.I’ll keep goofing around with it, if I figure out what is making this happen I’ll let you know.

ParticipantNot sure if this matters or not, I loaded the free version of the calendar to my site, then purchased the facebook add on. Could this potentially cause the problem>

MemberHello billashton,
As long as you got the free plugin from http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/, and you are using the current version, it shouldn’t be causing the problem.
We’d love to help you figure out what is causing this. The situation has been so rare it has been difficult to pin down the problem; we haven’t been able to reproduce it after several attempts.
What we need to verify is that this is a bug on our end, under stock situations. If you were able, it would be awesome if you could spin up another small sample site with only The Events Calendar, the Facebook Events plugin and a stock theme like TwentyTwelve. Then attach your Facebook app to load events and let it run for a few days/events.
If you were willing to do that for us and report back if you were able to reproduce the bug that would be awesome. I’d ask you to deactivate themes and plugins on your live site, but that seems less than optimal.
We’ll still be working on our end to see if we can identify the issue, but it’s a been few months and we have not been able to. We think it may be limited to certain users system setups or changes in the Facebook API.
Does this make sense? Thanks a ton!
Cheers!

ParticipantI use the headway drag and drop theme, I changed it to twenty twelve and tested it. It worked like it was suppose to on twenty twelve. So it is for sure something with my theme.
Thanks for you help

MemberOk great, that is super helpful in pinning down the problem. I’ll let the devs know to test with Headway.
Cheers!
